How to make a flower from foam rubber

What do you need

1 Cut off a round piece of foam. This will be the calla flower. The circumference of the circle can be as large or small as you wish.

2 Fold the circle in half. Make sure you fold it gently so that the shape of the flower is correct.

3 Change the circle to create a rounded heart. Start by bringing the scissors to the bottom of the folded foam. Cut around the edges of the circle, then dive with scissors on top of the circle to create a rounded edge. When you straighten the circle, it should look like a rounded heart, with two small humps on top. The bottom of the heart should remain round.

The classic heart shape has a sharp end, but in this case, you should keep the bottom of the heart round, with a very small angle.
Don't make the humps on top too bright. They should be small.

4 Make a small cut between the humps. Thus, it will be easier for you to give the foam rubber the cylindrical shape of a calla flower.

5 Cut the yellow pipe cleaner in half, then fold it in half. Bend the two ends together. This will be the calla stamen, which will protrude realistically from the center of the flower.

6 Glue the pipe cleaner to the crevice between the two bumps. Place a drop of hot glue between the two bumps above the incision and place the folded pipe cleaner in there with the folded edges facing up towards the calla flower. The folded ends should protrude from the crevice about 1.25 cm.

7 Collect the calla flower around the pipe cleaner. Put a drop of hot glue from the front of the yellow pipe cleaner, right into the crevice of the flower. Take both sides of the flower (where you made the cut) and join them together in front of the pipe cleaner, pushing down on them to adhere. You can add some more hot glue between both sides to keep them in place.

8 Make a stem out of green pipe cleaner. Wrap the top of the pipe cleaner around the base of the yellow pipe cleaner so that it is completely covered. Leave the tail of the green pipe cleaner straight to resemble a stem.

Method 2 of 3: Violets

1 Cut a circle out of a lilac piece of foam rubber. Use lilac foam if you want to create a violet. Other colors are suitable for other types of flowers.
2 Make cuts around the circle. Make equal cuts from the edge of the circle to the center, stopping about 1.25 cm from the center.
3 Cut the "v" shapes from the petals. Lift up each petal and cut off the reverse "v", making two diagonal cuts.
4 Cut a small circle of white foam. This will be the center of the flower.
5 Glue the circle to the center. Place a drop of hot glue on the center of the violet, then glue a small white circle onto it.
6 Collect the flower petals. Fold the petals in half vertically to make the petals stand up, creating a 3D petal effect.
7 Glue the stem to the back of the flower. Use a green stem pipe cleaner and glue it to the center of the petal, on the back of the flower.

Method 3 of 3: Chrysanthemums

1 Cut a square piece of foam in half. Choose any color, as chrysanthemums come in many shades.
2 Make a loop. Apply a strip of hot glue across the bottom edge of the foam, then glue the top to the glue.
3 Cut off the fringe. Cut straight lines from the folded part of the buttonhole to the glued edge. Stop cutting before you get to the glue line. Continue until you have finished fringing the entire length.
4 Wrap the foam. Start at one short edge and start rolling the foam towards the back edge. When you're done wrapping, drip some hot glue onto the opposite side and press it against the hinge. Now, start with one end of the foam and wrap in the opposite end.
5 Open the flower. When the glue is dry, open the flower with your fingers, pulling out the petals. Click on the center of each petal to open it. Continue to inflate the petals until the flower looks ready.
6 Add a stem. Place some glue on the center of the bottom of the chrysanthemum. Attach one end of the pipe cleaner and hold it there until the glue dries.
7 We finished.
