In this article, we are going to show you how to use speakerphone on iPhone. You can go into speakerphone mode during a call, or change your iPhone settings so that the speakerphone turns on every time you call. Unfortunately, the speakerphone cannot be used during a video call or voice message.

Steps

Method 1 of 2: How to turn on the speakerphone during a call

1. 1 Launch the Phone app . Tap the white handset icon on a green background.
2. 2 Tap the tab Contacts. It is at the bottom of the screen. A list of contacts will open.
   • If you want to dial the number manually, tap the Keypad tab.
3. 3 Select a contact. Scroll down the list, find the contact you want and tap on it. The contact page will open.
   • If you decide to dial the number manually, do so now.
4. 4 Make a phone call. Click on the call button, which is marked with a handset icon at the top of the page, and then select Call Mobile from the menu.
   • If you dialed the number manually, just click on the green call button at the bottom of the screen.
5. 5 Hold iPhone at least 50 cm away from you. When making a call, keep your smartphone at a sufficient distance from you so that the screen does not turn off.
   • If you bring iPhone up to your face, the screen turns off.
6. 6 Click on Audio. It's in the upper-right corner of the row of buttons that appear on the screen during a call. The iPhone speaker will turn on, allowing you to keep your phone away from your ear while listening and talking to the other person.
   • If the iPhone keyboard is still open, click Hide in the lower-right corner of the keyboard to hide it and show the call buttons.
   • If your smartphone is connected to a Bluetooth speaker (such as a speaker in a car), touching the “Audio” option will bring up a pop-up menu at the bottom of the screen - from this menu, select “Audio” to switch to the iPhone speaker.

Method 2 of 2: How to turn on speakerphone for all conversations

1. 1 Launch the Settings app . Tap the gear icon.
2. 2 Scroll down and tap "General" . This option is on the settings page. The main settings page will open.
3. 3 Tap Universal access. It's near the bottom of the screen.
4. 4 Scroll down and tap Sound source. This option is at the bottom of the second group of options, which is at the bottom of the page.
5. 5 Click on Audio. It's at the bottom of the Sound Source menu. A check mark will appear to the left of "Audio" - this means that the option is activated.
   • From now on, all incoming or outgoing calls will go through the speakerphone. To turn off the speakerphone, press "Audio" during a call.

Tips

• If Visual Voicemail is enabled on iPhone, you can use the speakerphone to listen to your voicemail in the Phone app. To do this, click on the Answering Machine tab in the lower-right corner of the Phone app screen, select Voicemail, and then click Audio> Play.
• Use the speakerphone while driving to talk on the phone and not be distracted from the road.

Warnings
