Your Google Account is your ticket to take full advantage of Google Chrome. When you log into Chrome with your Google account, all your saved passwords and bookmarks will be loaded, no matter what computer you are using. You will also be automatically logged into all of your Google services such as Gmail, Drive, and YouTube. Alternatively, you can connect Chrome to your Chromecast, which will display the current tab on your TV screen.

Steps

Method 1 of 3: Sign in to Chrome

1. 1 Click the Chrome menu button (☰). You can sign in to Chrome using a Google account, which syncs all your bookmarks, extensions, and saved passwords. This will allow you to use any Chrome browser as if it were your own.
   • If this is the first time you've launched Chrome after installation, you'll be prompted to sign in to your Google Account as soon as Chrome launches, without having to go through the Settings menu.
2. 2 Select "Preferences" from the Chrome menu.
3. 3 Click.Sign in to Chrome button.
4. 4 Enter your Google email and password. Look online for more information on how to create a free Google account.
5. 5 Wait a few minutes for Chrome to sync the information. It may take a minute for all of your bookmarks to load. Your extensions will also install, which can also take a few minutes.

Method 2 of 3: Switching Users to Chrome

1. 1 Click on your username in the upper right corner of the Chrome window. The latest versions of Chrome have made it much easier to switch users. Clicking on the active user's name allows you to sign in with a different Google account, which will load all of the account's bookmarks and saved passwords in a new Chrome window.
   • First of all, you need to log into your main account using the previous method.
   • Look online for more information on how to update Chrome.
2. 2 Click Switch User. This will open a small window with all available users.
3. 3 Click "Add User". If you don't see this option, follow these steps:
   • Click the Chrome menu button (☰).
   • Select "Settings".
   • Check the box under People next to Allow Create New Users from Profile Manager.
4. 4 Sign in with the account you want to add. You can sign in with the Google account you want to add to Chrome. A new Chrome window will appear in the upper right corner with the username.
5. 5 Open the profile manager to switch between active accounts. After you have added an account, you can quickly switch between them by clicking on the name of the active one in the upper right corner. Each account will open in a separate window.

Method 3 of 3: Connecting Chrome to Chromecast

1. 1 Connect your Chromecast to the display you want to use it with. Before installing the Chromecast software on your computer, connect your Chromecast to the device that will use it.
   • If your Chromecast doesn't fit your TV's HDMI port, use an HDMI extension cable.
   • Make sure your Chromecast is connected to a power source.
2. 2 Turn on your TV to the desired HDMI input. The HDMI input number is usually printed next to the port on the TV.
3. 3 Download the Chromecast app for your computer or mobile device. You can download it from chromecast.com/setup.
4. 4 Launch the app and follow the instructions to set up your Chromecast. You only have to do this once and then you can connect any device.
   • Launch the app and select "Set up a new Chromecast".
   • Wait for the app to connect to your new Chromecast.
   • Make sure the code is the same on the TV and in the installer.
   • Configure the wireless settings for your Chromecast.
5. 5 Click the Start Using Chromecast button. This will open the Google Chrome tab which will allow you to install the Google Cast extension. Follow the instructions to install the extension in Chrome.
   • If you set up your Chromecast through your phone or tablet, you will need to manually install the Google Cast extension on your computer by visiting the Chrome Web Store. You can open the Chrome Web Store by clicking on the Chrome menu button, choosing More Tools → Extensions, and then clicking the More Extensions button at the bottom of the list.
6. 6 Start downloading Chrome Tabs to Chromecast. Now that the Google Cast extension has been installed, you can download your Google Chrome tabs to your Chromecast.
   • Navigate to what you want to download to Chromecast.
   • Click the Google Cast extension button at the top of the Chrome window. It's located next to the Chrome menu button.
   • Select your Chromecast under "Download this tab to ...". Your current tab appears on the TV screen.
