Do you want to open a website from your desktop without launching your browser? To do this, you need to place a shortcut to the site on your desktop. It takes no more than 5 minutes to create such a shortcut!
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Create a shortcut quickly
1 Launch your browser.
2 Open the site.
3 Right click on the site.
4 Select Create Shortcut from the menu.
5 A window will open.
6 With the message: "Add a shortcut to the desktop?" Click Yes.
Method 2 of 2: Create Shortcut Wizard
1 Open the site.
2 Highlight the site / page address.
3 Right-click on it and select "Copy" from the menu (or press Ctrl + C).
4 Open your desktop.
5 Right click on the desktop and choose New from the menu.
6 Click Shortcut (Windows) or Link (KDE).
7 The Create Shortcut Wizard will open.
8 On the Specify Object Location line, right-click and click Paste (or press Ctrl + V).
9 Click Next.
10 In the "Enter shortcut name" line, enter a name for the shortcut.
11 Click Finish.
Tips
- Be sure to add http: // to the site / page address.
- If the site is not open, its icon will not appear on the shortcut.
Warnings
- A site opened from the desktop can open in a window / tab with an already open (other) site.
