In this article, we will show you how to exchange animated emoticons on WhatsApp.

Steps

Method 1 of 2: iPhone

1. 1 Turn on the emoji keyboard on iPhone. For this:
   • Launch the Settings app.
   • Click "General".
   • Scroll down and tap Keyboard.
   • Make sure there is "Emoji" or "Emoji" in the list of keyboards. If not, tap Add Keyboard> Emoji.
2. 2 Launch WhatsApp. Tap the white telephone handset icon with a green speech cloud background.
3. 3 Click Chats. You will find this option at the bottom of the screen.
   • If a conversation is open in WhatsApp, click "Back" in the upper left corner of the screen.
4. 4 Tap the conversation you want. It will open.
   • To compose a new message, click on the pencil-shaped notepad icon; this icon is in the upper right corner of the screen.
5. 5 Click on the chat panel. It is a white box and is located at the bottom of the page.
   • If you've created a new message, first tap the contact's name.
6. 6 Click Keyboards. This option is marked with a globe (ball) icon in the lower-left corner of the iPhone keyboard.
   • If the emoji keyboard is the only additional keyboard, the specified icon will appear as an emoji.
7. 7 Tap the emoji keyboard icon (optional). If you've activated multiple keyboards, tap the emoji icon in the pop-up window that appears above the Keyboards icon.
8. 8 Select an emoticon. To open a specific category of emoticons, tap one of the tabs at the bottom of the screen. You can also swipe left on the emoji keyboard to view all available emojis.
9. 9 Tap Send. This option is marked with an arrow icon to the right of the message. An emoticon will be sent.

Method 2 of 2: Android

1. 1 Launch WhatsApp. Tap the white telephone handset icon with a green speech cloud background.
2. 2 Click Chats. You will find this option at the top of the screen.
   • If a conversation is open in WhatsApp, click "Back" in the upper left corner of the screen.
3. 3 Tap the conversation you want. It will open.
   • To compose a new message, tap New Message in the lower-right corner of the screen, and then select the contact's name.
4. 4 Click the emoji icon. You will find it on the left side of the chat panel at the bottom of the screen.
5. 5 Select an emoticon. To open a specific category of emoticons, tap one of the tabs at the top of the screen. You can also swipe left on an emoji to view all available emojis.
6. 6 Tap Send. This option is marked with an arrow icon to the right of the message. An emoticon will be sent.
