Converse is available in many colors and combinations that can go well with almost any wardrobe. To wear your converse, try some of the following methods.
Steps
Method 1 of 4: Pairing with pants
- 1 Wear Converse with jeans. It is a versatile image with many possible options, such as:
- Wear Converse with skinny jeans for a modern look. If you have tall shoes, you can even tuck the jeans inward to show the side sections.
- Wear them with cropped jeans for a slimmer look. Long, wide jeans can only show off the sock of a Converse.
- Wear them with old jeans for an old-school grunge look. This is a good option for everyday use.
- Wear them with bright jeans in a casual style. This is the "hippie" image or the free image!
- Wear them with baggy jeans for a gangster look. To achieve the look popularized by Lil Wayne, tuck your jeans into red converse and lace them evenly all over the boot as well as around the ankles.
- 2 Wear converse with shorts. There are several ways to do this correctly:
- Wear shorts with matching socks. For example, wear mid-length red high shorts with red socks.
- Wear cropped denim shorts with Converse. High boots work best for this look, but low boots work well too. Some intricate lacing may even add some flavor to such a simple look (see below)
- Just make sure your shorts are short enough. If they are long, it will not look good.
- 3 Wear low-top converse with rolled skinny for a summer look.
- 4 Wear Converse of any height. Wear a nice long, oversized sweater with long tights or leggings that reach the ankle. This option works with any converse height.
Method 2 of 4: Dresses or Skirts with Converse
- 1 The dresses look very pretty with high tops. Just make sure the dress is casual and not too fancy.
- 2 Wear them with a short skirt (with or without colored leggings) for a feminine look. This is a good option for when you want to look stylish.
- Some shorts can be worn this way.
Method 3 of 4: Converse Shorts
- 1 Choose white or gray converse.
- 2 Find the right shorts. Shorts of any color will do, provided you wear neutral-colored converse.
- 3 Buy high socks (mid-thigh or slightly below).
- 4 Enjoy your new style.
Method 4 of 4: Lacing
- 1 Try different lacing styles for your converse.
- For a sleek look, tie a knot under the tongue of each shoe and tuck the ends of the laces into the shoe.
- For a casual look, lace up all but the last two lace holes.
- For a casual look, loosen all laces and leave them untied, tucking in the ends if necessary.
- For a grunge look, pull the laces around the bootleg, wrap the ends of the laces around your feet, and tie them without a visible knot.
- For a clean look, get rid of the laces altogether, sew the converse tongue tighter and you have a great shoe without laces.
Tips
- If you want to clean up the white part of your converse use Mr. Clean Magic Erasers, which will do a great job clearing your converse.
- It's always good to have multiple pairs of shoes for a change, and therefore you can have both worn and new Converse. Try to have different types - high and low, pairs of different colors!
- Buy new insoles: If you are going to wear Converse every day, when the insoles are frayed, you may feel soreness.
- Many people would like to write something or decorate their converse in some way. It's forever, so be sure you really want it!
- There is some debate as to whether old converse looks good. Many people find Converse to look great if they are a little worn, and some people like clean, brand new shoes. Don't be afraid to wear an old pair of Converse.
- Wear converse that matches your outfit. Black converse will look great if your look includes a black shirt.
- Some people wear Converse with laces tucked in.
- Make sure you don't wear converse too often so you don't overdo it. Good should be in moderation!
Warnings
- Do not be persuaded by other people to print or write on your Converse. After all, you will have to wear them, not your friends.
