Carnation (lat. Syzygium aromaticum) Are unopened flower buds that are harvested from the clove tree, which grows mainly in Indonesia. Cloves are used for cooking as a spice, as well as for medical and household purposes. Every home should have a clove, fresh or powdered, as it can be used for a wide variety of purposes.

Steps

  1. 1 Use cloves in your cooking. Clove has a bright and spicy aroma and a tangy taste. In cooking, cloves are used in small quantities. Cloves are great for the following dishes:
    • fruit pies. Usually cloves are added to apple pies, however, if you want a warmer, spicy flavor, you can add cloves to any other fruit pie;
    • seasonings, pickles and pickles. Clove perfectly complements many spices with its spicy aroma and taste;
    • seasoned with cloves in ham;
    • crushed cloves are added to cakes, gingerbread, muffins and desserts for a spicier taste and aroma;
    • in many Indian dishes. Cloves are often added to many curries and biriani;
    • for making coffee figs;
    • in dishes with pumpkin and zucchini. Clove perfectly suits with its aroma not only to many fruits, but also vegetables.
  2. 2 Prepare drinks with cloves. Cloves are great for flavoring many warming winter drinks like mulled wine or warm cider. Try to cook also:
    • mead with orange, cinnamon and cloves;
    • hot cranberry cider with spices;
    • vassail;
    • spiced tea;
    • Add clove powder, 70% dark chocolate and heavy cream to the hot milk and stir well.
  3. 3 Use a clove at home. In everyday life, cloves are used in different ways, from insect repellents to aromatizing rooms. For example, clove or clove oil can be used to:
    • getting rid of flies;
    • making an aromatic ball;
    • aromatization of substrates in cabinet drawers;
    • removing the smell of naphthalene.
  4. 4 Use cloves instead of toothpaste or as a pain reliever. Chew (but don't swallow!) A few cloves if you have a toothache, and then go to your dentist.
  5. 5 Ready.
