Bronze figurines, trophies and household items need cleaning from time to time. Here's how to get these items back in good condition.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Boiling water
1 Place the bronze item in boiling water in a large container.
2 Wash the bronze item with soapy water and a piece of flannel. Rub lightly to remove all dirt and stains.
3 Dry with chamois leather. Make sure the item is completely dry, otherwise, its condition may worsen.
Method 2 of 2: Salt, vinegar, and flour
1 Dissolve 1 teaspoon of salt in 1 cup of white vinegar. Add flour and stir to create a paste.
2 Take a bronze item and apply the paste evenly. Leave it on for 15 minutes and up to an hour.
3 Rinse off with warm water.
4 Dry with chamois leather.
Tips
- Keep the bronze clean (keep it free of dust and other contaminants) to keep it clean for longer.
Warnings
- Do not use these methods with lacquered bronzes. Just wipe it down from time to time with a damp cloth.
