To step

Method 1 of 4: Simple fried rice

  1. Cook the rice. Put the rice in boiling water and cook it for as long as indicated on the package. Some varieties are ready after 10 minutes, others require 30 minutes or more to cook. You can also prepare ready-to-eat rice in the microwave, but that is less tasty.
  2. Prepare the vegetables. Wash and cut all vegetables. Set these ingredients aside.
  3. Serve. Put the rice in a bowl and garnish with some spring onion. Enjoy your meal!

Method 2 of 4: Fried rice with crispy pork

  1. Stir in the cilantro. Stir the cilantro well into the other ingredients.
  2. Serve. Put the rice on a bowl and put the pieces of fried egg on top.

Method 3 of 4: Indonesian fried rice

  1. Rinse and drain the white rice.
  2. Put the lid on the pan and reduce the heat. Cook the rice until all the liquid has been absorbed and the rice is soft. This takes about 15 minutes. Then remove the pan from the heat and let it sit, covered, for 5 minutes to allow the rice to absorb the flavors.
  3. Place the rice in a shallow bowl. Let it cool to room temperature - this will take about 30 minutes. Then leave the rice in the refrigerator for 8 to 12 hours.
  4. Heat the liter of oil in a large pan over high heat. Heat it to 190 ° C.
  5. Bake the prawn crackers. Lower 2 pieces of prawn crackers into the oil. Fry them until they float to the surface, curl and expand, which takes about 20 seconds. Then turn the prawn crackers and fry until they are light golden in color - about ten seconds more. Then remove them from the pan with a slotted spoon or tongs and place them on kitchen paper to drain.
    • Fry the remaining prawn crackers in the same way, in 3 batches. When the prawn crackers have cooled, break them into pieces.
  6. Serve. Serve this Indonesian fried rice on a platter with prawn crackers, cucumber slices and hard-boiled eggs.

Method 4 of 4: Other types of fried rice

  1. Make vegetarian fried rice. This is a perfect dish for rice lovers who don't want to eat meat.
  2. Make Japanese fried rice. Make the rice with a healthy serving of scrambled eggs and peas.
  3. Make Chinese fried rice. You can make this delicious fried rice with some slices of bacon and an omelet cut into strips.
  4. Make fried rice with shrimp. Make this version if you love shrimp.
  5. Make Thai fried rice. This rice is made with a variety of ingredients including peanut oil, fish sauce and chili peppers.

Tips

  • Fried rice is a great way to use up leftovers. If you want to save time, you can use a handful of frozen vegetables - peas, carrots, peppers, etc. add color, nutritional value and flavor in seconds.
  • It is recommended to use cooked rice from the previous day, as it is a bit firmer than freshly cooked rice. This will stick a little less if you stir-fry it.
  • You can add a lot more to fried rice. The possibilities are endless. Here are some ideas:
    • Tofu
    • Chicken
    • Pork
    • Ham
    • Beef
    • Vegetables such as peas, broccoli or bamboo shoots
    • Lap Cheung (Chinese pork sausage) tastes great with fried rice. It must first be fried or steamed and then added to the rice in small pieces.
    • Oyster sauce, for sale at the Asian supermarket, gives a delicious taste, and does not taste like oysters. You only need a little bit and you can add it after baking. Sometimes it does contain flavor enhancers, so check the label if you don't want that.
  • Add a little bit of lemon juice to the rice.
  • You can also use butter instead of oil.
