This article will show you how to block and unblock users in the imo.im messenger. To block a user in imo.im, you had to correspond with him and he should not be in your contacts.

Steps

Method 1 of 4: How to block a user on a mobile phone

1. 1 Run the imo app. Click on the white speech cloud icon with the letters "imo".
   • If you haven't logged in to imo on your phone yet, enter your phone number and name.
2. 2 Go to the tab Contacts. It is located in the lower right corner of the screen.
   • On an Android device, tap Contacts in the upper right corner of the screen.
3. 3 Select the user you want to block. To do this, tap the contact; a correspondence with this user will open.
4. 4 Click on the person's name. It's in the upper left corner of the screen. This user's profile will open.
5. 5 Tap Delete. This button is at the bottom of the screen.
   • On Android, tap Delete Contact. Perhaps the "Block" option will be available on the Android device, that is, there is no need to delete the contact; in this case, skip this step and the next.
6. 6 Click on Yeswhen prompted. The user will be removed from your contact list, allowing you to block them.
7. 7 Tap the white switch next to “Block”. It's at the bottom of the screen.
8. 8 Click on Yeswhen prompted. The user will be blocked, that is, they will not be able to contact you through imo.

Method 2 of 4: How to unblock a user on a mobile phone

1. 1 Run the imo app. Click on the white speech cloud icon with the letters "imo".

2. 2 Click on ⋮. It's in the upper-left corner of your screen. A menu will open.
   • On an Android device, tap "☰" in the lower left corner of the screen.
3. 3 Tap Settings . This gear-shaped icon is in the upper right corner of the screen.
   • On an Android device, the Settings option is in the middle of the screen.
4. 4 Click on Blocked contacts. It's in the middle of the settings page.
   • On an Android device, scroll down to find this option.
5. 5 Find the user you want to unblock. If you've blocked multiple users, find the one you want to unblock.
6. 6 Click on Unblock. It's a blue button to the right of the person's name.
7. 7 Tap Unblockwhen prompted. The user will be unblocked.
   • To add a person to your contacts, open the "Chats" tab, click on the correspondence with that person, tap their name, and then click "Add to Contacts" (or a similar option).

Method 3 of 4: How to block a user from the computer

1. 1 Open imo. Click on the white speech cloud icon with the letters "imo".
   • If you are not already logged into imo on your computer, enter your phone number.
2. 2 Go to the tab Contacts. It's in the upper left side of the window.
3. 3 Select the user you want to block. Find the person on the left in the Contacts tab, then click on their name. A correspondence with this person will open.
4. 4 Right click on the username. A menu will open.
   • If the mouse does not have a right button, click on the right side of the mouse or click with two fingers.
   • If your computer has a trackpad (not a mouse), tap it with two fingers, or press the lower-right portion of the trackpad.
5. 5 Click on Remove from contacts. It's at the bottom of the menu.
6. 6 Click on Yeswhen prompted. The person will be removed from your contact list.
7. 7 Click on Block. This option is near the top of the user profile page; he will be blocked, that is, he will not be able to contact you through imo.

Method 4 of 4: How to unblock a user on a computer

1. 1 Open imo. Click on the white speech cloud icon with the letters "imo".
   • If you are not already logged into imo on your computer, enter your phone number.
2. 2 Click on imo. It's a tab in the upper left corner of the window. A menu will open.
3. 3 Click on Blocked Users. It's in the middle of the menu. A list of blocked users will open on the right.
4. 4 Find the user you want to unblock. If you've blocked multiple users, find the one you want to unblock.
5. 5 Click on Unblock. This is the button under the person's name - it will be unlocked.
6. 6 Add the person to your contacts. Tap a person's name to open their profile, and then tap Add to Contacts at the top of the screen.

Tips

• If you do not have correspondence (at least one message) with the person you want to block, you will not be able to block him after being removed from your contacts list.

Warnings

• Blocked users will not be able to contact you or find out if you are online.
