If you decide to delete your instagram account - for whatever reason - then it might be annoying to know that there are no specific instructions on the instagram app for this. Luckily, you will still be able to delete your account from the Instagram app through the app's Help Center; after that, all that's left is to simply delete the app from the iPhone. Note that you won't be able to recover any data from your Instagram account after deleting the account.

Steps

Part 1 of 2: Delete account

1. 

   Tap on the Instagram app to open Instagram. You can delete Instagram from the "Help Center" option in the Settings menu.

   Open personal page. You can go to your profile page by tapping on the humanoid icon in the lower right corner of the screen.

   Touch the Settings gear. This icon is in the upper right corner of the screen.

   Touch the "Help Center" option. This option is in the "Support" group of options at the bottom of the Settings menu.

   Tap the "Managing Your Account" section at the top of the screen.

   Tap the "Delete Your Account" link. This will take you to the support page with information about deleting the account.

   Tap on "How do I delete my account?"(How can I delete the account?). You don't need to read the content of this page because Instagram will provide a link to the" delete account "function in the first section.

   Tap the "Delete your account page" link. This link is under the "To permanently delete your account:" section, next to step one.
   • You can also tap the "Temporarily disable your account" link on this page so that you don't have to permanently delete the account. Once disabled, your account won't show up in search results, but you can reactivate your account at any time.

   Enter your username and password. This will verify the account you want to remove.
   • Tap "Login" to go to the "Delete Your Account" page.

    Tap the bar at the bottom of the page. This bar is below the words "Why are you deleting your account?" (Why would you want to delete the account?); When you touch the bar, you will be asked to choose a reason for deletion.

    Select a reason for your account deletion, then tap "Done". This will unlock the rest of the account deletion options.

    Enter the password. You will enter your password near the bottom of the page, under the words "To continue ... enter your password" (To continue ... enter your password).

    Tap "Permanently delete my account". This will delete your Instagram account and all related content! advertisement

Part 2 of 2: Delete Instagram Apps

1. 

   Touch the Home button to exit the Instagram application.

2. 

   Navigate to the location of the Instagram app on your phone. Depending on the number of apps on your phone, from the Home screen you may need to swipe right several times to see the Instagram application.

3. 

   Touch and hold the icon of the Instagram app. This will prepare the app for deletion, the app's icon will vibrate and have an "X" in the upper left corner.

4. 

   Tap on the "X". This means you want to delete the Instagram app on your iPhone.

5. 

   Touch "Delete" when prompted. The Instagram app and related data will be deleted! advertisement

Advice

• If you do not want to leave the Instagram app on your phone, you should consider only deleting the app from your phone and keeping the account because when you delete the account, you will not be able to restore the content in it.

Warning

• When you delete your Instagram account, all of your photos, videos, comments and followers will be gone forever.
• You will not be able to re-activate your Instagram account after deletion.
