This wikiHow teaches you how to clear YouTube watch and search history. You can do this on the mobile app and on the desktop as well.

Steps

Method 1 of 2: On the phone

1. 

   Open YouTube. Tap the white triangle YouTube app on a red background. The YouTube home page will open if you're signed in.
   • If you aren't logged in, enter your email address (or phone number) and password to continue.

   Tap your profile icon in the top right corner or bottom of the screen. If you do not set a profile picture, the placement will be replaced with a human head and shoulder icon or the first letter of your name on a colored background.

   Click Settings (Setting). The option is near the middle of the drop-down menu.

   Scroll down and tap Clear watch history (Clear view history). The task is in the "History & privacy" option group.
   • On Android, tap History & privacy before.

   Click CLEAR WATCH HISTORY when it appears. All videos that you watched in YouTube history will be deleted.
   • On Android, tap OK when asked.

   Click Clear search history (Delete search history). The task is just below the options Clear watch history.

7. 

   Click CLEAR SEARCH HISTORY when it appears. All searches that you performed will be removed from YouTube history. YouTube history will now be completely blank.
   • Similarly, press OK on an Android device.

Method 2 of 2: On the computer

1. 

   Open YouTube. Access https://www.youtube.com/ on your favorite web browser. The YouTube home page will appear if you are logged in.
   • If you're not signed into YouTube, click Sign in in the upper right corner of the screen, then enter your email address (or phone number) and password.

   Click History (History). This tag is usually located on the left side of the YouTube homepage.

3. 

   Click CLEAR ALL WATCH HISTORY (DELETE ALL VIEW HISTORY). Options are on the right side of the page.

   Click CLEAR WATCH HISTORY when it appears. All videos that you watched in YouTube history will be deleted.

   Click the next round button Search history (Search history). The options are below the label Watch history (View history) on the top right of the page.

6. 

   Click CLEAR ALL SEARCH HISTORY (DELETE ALL SEARCH HISTORY). The task is in the same location as the option CLEAR ALL WATCH HISTORY before.

7. 

   Click CLEAR SEARCH HISTORY when it appears. All searches that you performed will be removed from YouTube history. YouTube history will now be completely blank. advertisement

• When you do this, you may also want to clear your browser history.

Warning

• Once your YouTube history is deleted, you won't be able to restore it.
