We can delete Facebook comments and posts using the mobile app or the website on the computer. You can delete your comment along with comments that others have posted on your posts, but you can't delete comments that belong to someone else's posts. In addition, you can also delete posts that you or others have posted on your timeline.

Steps

Method 1 of 4: Delete Comment (on mobile)

1. 

   Open the Facebook app. You can delete any valid comments using the Facebook mobile app. Make sure you're signed in to an account that can delete comments.
   • If you want to delete a post instead of a comment, see the next section.

   Open the Activity Log. The activity log tracks all comments and posts you have posted. You can quickly find specific comments thanks to Activity Log. To access the Activity Log:
   • On Android - Press the Menu button (☰) in the upper right corner, then scroll down to "Activity Log."
   • IOS - Tap the Menu button (☰) in the lower-right corner, then tap "Settings." Select "Activity Log" from the new menu.

   Find comments to delete on your post. Activity Log will only show the comments you have posted. If you want to delete other people's comments on your posts, please open that post.
   • You can delete comments you have posted on other people's posts, as well as comments people left on your posts. We cannot delete comments from others on posts that are not ours.

   Open comment's task list. In the Activity Log, click the "v" next to the comment you want to delete. If you are deleting a comment on the post (and not the Activity Log), press and hold on that comment to open the task list.

   Click "Delete" to delete your comment. You will be asked to confirm that you want to delete the post's comments. If the "Delete" option is not available, you are not allowed to delete the comment. advertisement

Method 2 of 4: delete posts (on mobile)

1. 

   Find the post you want to delete. You can delete posts that you have posted, or content that others have posted on your wall. You cannot delete posts outside of your possession.

   Open the Activity Log to find posts quickly. You can find the posts you have created using Activity Log, which records all of your Facebook activity. However, if you want to remove content that someone has posted on your wall, look it up on the timeline.
   • On Android - Press the Menu button (☰), then select "Activity Log."
   • On iOS - Press the Menu button (☰), tap on "Settings," then select "Activity Log."

   Click the "v" next to the post you want to delete. The post's task list will appear. You can only delete the content you have posted, or have others posted on your wall.

   Select "Delete" from the menu. You will be asked to confirm that you want to delete the post. If you don't see delete option, you don't have permission to delete this content. Instead, you can hide posts that you cannot delete.
   • When a post is deleted, all likes and content shared by others disappear.

Method 3 of 4: delete comments (on desktop)

1. 

   Log in to the Facebook website. You can delete all your comments using the Facebook website. Make sure you are signed in to the correct account that is allowed to delete comments.
   • If you want to delete a post instead of a comment, see the next section.

   Find the comment you want to delete. You can delete your comments, as well as comments that others have posted in your own posts. You cannot delete comments that people post on other people's posts.

   Use the Activity Log to find your comments. You can find all your comments again using Activity Log.
   • Click the ▼ button at the top of the page, then select "Activity Log." Then you can browse for the comment you want to delete.
   • Or, you can just open the post with the comment you want to delete.

   Click the button to the right of the comment to delete. Click the "X" next to someone else's comment, or the pencil button next to your own comment.

   Select "Delete" from the menu that appears. This only happens with your own comments.

   Confirm that you want to delete the comment. After you confirm, the comments will be deleted and no longer visible to anyone. advertisement

Method 4 of 4: Delete posts (on desktop)

1. 

   Log in to the Facebook website. Make sure you are logged into an account that is allowed to delete comments.

2. 

   Find the post you want to delete. You can delete posts that you have posted, or content that others have left on your timeline. You cannot delete posts from one person on another's wall.
   • You can use Activity Log to find old posts quickly. Click the image button ▼ in the upper right corner and select "Activity Log," then scroll down to find posts.

3. 

   Click the "v" button next to the post you want to delete. A small menu with several options will appear.
   • If you are in Activity Log, click the pencil button.

4. 

   Choose "Delete" from the menu. After you confirm, the post will be removed completely from Facebook. Anyone who has shared this article cannot review this content. All comments and likes are also deleted. advertisement

Advice

• If you accidentally hide someone's comments or change your mind, you can restore it by clicking “Unhide”. This button will appear where the hidden comment has been previously shown.

Warning

• Whether you delete or hide a comment, someone has seen it in time. Use caution when commenting on Facebook or any social network to limit unwanted impressions on the network.
