Why spend so much money on sugar-based scrubs when you can make them without much preparation at home? Sugar exfoliants are great for exfoliating without drying the skin like salt exfoliants or having the same negative effects on termites as seed exfoliation.

Steps

Method 1 of 3: Olive Oil and Sugar Exfoliants

  1. Take the jar. You will need a small jar to mix into the exfoliating mixture. Find a clean container with a lid that you can keep for at least a few days until you have used up.
    • This recipe will give about 2/3 cup of exfoliating, though you can double the amount if you want. Please choose the correct size of the jar.

  2. Pour oil into the jug. Pour 3 tablespoons of olive oil into the container.
    • You can also add 1-2 capsules of vitamin E oil if you want to add healthy nutrients to this scrub. Just cut off the head and squeeze the nutrients into the oil. However, if you do, be sure to let the exfoliating mixture into your skin for a few minutes before washing your face.

  3. Add honey. Now let's add 2 tablespoons of honey. Anything can be used, but the thicker the better.
  4. Add sugar. Pour 1/2 cup of sugar in. Any sugar can be used, but raw sugar will give the roughest mix and white sugar will be less rough. Brown sugar provides a balance between the two sugars.

  5. Stir well and serve as needed. Now that you have all the ingredients in the jar, let's mix everything together. If the mixture seems a bit wet, you can add a little sugar. If it dries, add a teaspoon of olive oil.
    • Put the finished product on a shelf or in a cabinet. Putting it in the refrigerator will freeze the mixture.

Method 2 of 3: Exfoliate with Coconut Oil and Sugar

  1. Take the jar. You will need a small jar to mix into the exfoliating mixture. This recipe will give about 2 1/2 cups of the mixture of dead cells, so look for a jar that's large enough to hold. Or you can split the mixture in half to keep in small jars, or split the ingredients in the recipe in half.
  2. Pour oil into the jug. Pour 3 tablespoons of oil into the container.
    • You can also add 1-2 capsules of vitamin E oil if you want to add skin-healthy nutrients to this scrub.
If dry, add a spoonful of oil.
    • Put the finished product on a shelf or in a cabinet. Putting it in the refrigerator will freeze the mixture.

Method 3 of 3: Mixed Lavender Exfoliating

  1. Take the jar. You will need a small jar to mix into the exfoliating mixture. Find a clean container with a lid that you can keep for at least a few days until you have used up.
    • This recipe will give about 2/3 cup of the mixture, though you can double the amount if you want. Please choose the correct size of the jar.
  2. Pour oil into the jug. Pour 3 tablespoons of Johnson & Johnson Lavender Baby Oil (or another lavender body oil) into the jug.
    • You can also add 1-2 capsules of vitamin E oil if you want to add skin-healthy nutrients to this scrub. Just cut off the head and squeeze the nutrients into the oil. However, if you do, be sure to let the exfoliating mixture into your skin for a few minutes before washing your face.
  3. Crush some dried lavender and mix it in oil. Using your own bowl and mortar (similar tool to a hammer handle), crush some dried lavender. Pour the crushed lavender into the oil.
If dry, add half a teaspoon of oil. advertisement
