Collecting resources in 7 Days to Die is easy, especially if you can walk back and forth through the tunnel without bumping into zombies. However, the longer you play, the more resources you will need. And farming will help you out here, because this is the perfect way to replenish your food supplies!

Steps

Part 1 of 3: Preparation

  1. 1 Craft a Gardening Hoe. Without it, you will not be able to start farming. However, this is a multitasking subject, you can even fight back with it. By the way, you can find it by chance, or you can make it - from two iron ingots and 3 sticks.
    • Press “I” to open the crafting window.
    • On the right, select Gardening Hoe from the list, then click on the name to activate item crafting.
    • Place, according to the template, 2 iron ingots in the upper right block and three sticks horizontally from the lower left block.
  2. 2 Collect the seeds. To grow something, you need seeds, and there are three types of them in the game - potatoes, blueberries and corn. And in order to collect seeds, you first need to find the appropriate plant and harvest it.
    • Potatoes can be found anywhere on the map. You can eat it raw to cope with hunger, but it is better to cook it. This will fill in several parameters at once. Blueberries can be harvested from blueberry bushes. Corn can also be found anywhere. By the way - northwest of Deersville on Coronado Road, you can find a farm with over 400 corn plants!
    • The plant can be used for seeds, from 1 plant you will receive 4 seeds.
    • Press “I” to open the crafting window. Then just place the plant in the middle of the window.
  3. 3 Make a bucket. In order for the plants to grow, they need to be watered, and in order to water the plants, you need a bucket, which is created from 7 units of Forging Iron (and this, in turn, is made from iron ingots through the craft menu).
    • Press “I” to open the crafting window. On the right, select Forging Iron from the list, then click on the name to activate the creation of the item.
    • Drag the Forging Iron from inventory, arrange it according to the pattern, forming the letters “U”.
    • To make Forging Iron, drag Iron Ingot to the middle of the crafting window.

Part 2 of 3: Getting Started on a Farm

  1. 1 Find a flat surface. A good farm will come out on a flat surface near your home or near the exit from your underground tunnel. This will make it easier and safer to check the crop for maturity.
  2. 2 Dig up the ground. Take the Gardening Hoe and right click on the ground to excavate it. Remember, in 7 Days to Die farming is built on the same model as in life - there is no point in throwing seeds into the soil if it is not dug up. Accordingly ... dig!
  3. 3 Plant the seeds. After 2-3 days, the seeds will sprout, then you will have a steady source of food - especially if you have planted a lot. Plant your plants daily so you can harvest consistently.
    • Take the seeds, then right click on the dug up soil - voila, you have planted a seed!
    • If everything is done correctly, then a small green sprout will appear from the ground.
  4. 4 Water the plants. To make everything easier and faster, it is recommended to set up a farm near a water source.
    • Take the bucket, go to the reservoir, fill the bucket with water, go to the farm. Dig one block of earth.
    • Fill the block with water. This will moisten the soil in the blocks next to it. You can add more water sources at the farm.

Part 3 of 3: Precautions

  1. 1 Protect your farm. Zombies and even animals are the sources of danger! Traps around the farm are good for you, especially spikes and pikes. This will prevent the thief from reaching your plants!
  2. 2 Do not walk on excavated ground. It is better to make beds and walk between them without trampling the planted plants. Do you remember that walking or jumping over plants that have just been planted will kill them and tamp the soil?
  3. 3 Use torches. Zombies run faster at night. Use torches to minimize this advantage.

Tips

  • It is best to pick blueberries - they satisfy both hunger and thirst.
  • The easiest way to plant plants is by type. For example, two beds of corn, two beds of potatoes and two beds of blueberries.
  • One bucket of water can be used to make an endless source of water!
  • In 7 Days to Die, torches do not count as sunlight for plants.
