What's a kitchen without a universal spice? It's even better if you do it yourself. This tasty combination is suitable for desserts, pies, puddings, biscuits and some savory dishes.
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon allspice powder
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
Steps
1 Grind whole spices in a mortar, pestle or spice grinder.
2 Add spices to a bowl.
3 Mix all ingredients.
4 Place in an airtight storage container. Try to use a versatile spice within two months.
Tips
- Keep in mind that a stale universal spice will ruin the whole dish. Don't be tempted to store the spice for too long.
