This article will guide you how to create a Gmail account - Google's email service. You can create Gmail accounts on your phone and on your computer.

Steps

Method 1 of 2: On the computer

1. 

   App Store of the iPhone or

   

   Google Play Store of Android, and then do the following:
   • On Iphone - choose Search (Search), tap the search bar at the top of the screen, tap gmail, choose gmail in the displayed list, select GET (GET) right "Gmail - Email by Google" app and enter your Apple ID or Touch ID password.
   • On Android - Touch the search bar at the top of the screen, type gmail, choose Gmail in the displayed selection list, select INSTALL (INSTALLATION) and finally ACCEPT (ACCEPT).
   • Skip this step if you already have the Gmail app installed on your phone.

   Open Gmail. Choose OPEN (OPEN) in your phone's app store, or tap the red and white Gmail app icon. This will open an informational login page if you haven't signed in to any accounts on your phone.
   • If a Gmail account is already signed in on your phone, you will choose ☰ In the top left corner of the screen, tap your current email address, select Manage accounts (Account Management), select Add account (Add account), select Google and skip the next two steps.

   Choose SIGN IN (SIGN IN) below the screen.
   • If signed in to another account, choose ☰ on the left corner, then tap your account profile picture. Next, you choose ＋ Add account (Add account) and select Google above.

   Choose More options (More options) on the left side of the screen to display a menu.
   • If you have an account that is not logged in on your phone, you must first select Use another account (Use another account) on this page.

   Choose Create account (Create Account). That is the only option on the current page.
   • If you've ever signed in to your Gmail account, this option will be in the middle of the page and won't appear in the menu.

   Enter your first and last name. Select the "First name" field and enter your first name, then enter your last name in the "Last name" field.

   Choose NEXT (CONTINUE). It's a blue button on the right side of the page.

   Enter your date of birth and gender. Choose the month of birth, enter your date and year of birth, then choose your gender from the school's drop-down list Gender (Sex).

   Choose NEXT (CONTINUE).

    Create username. Enter the name you'd like to give your Gmail account a name in the "Username" field - this will appear before the "@ gmail.com" section of your email address.
    • You must choose a username that no one has used yet. If the username matches, you will be asked to choose a different one.

    Choose NEXT (CONTINUE).

12. 

    Create a password. Enter the password in the "Create password" field, and then re-enter the password in the "Confirm password" field.

    Choose NEXT (CONTINUE).

    Enter your phone number. Enter your phone number in the "Phone number" field. It should be the phone number from which you can receive messages.
    • Selection Skip (Skip) may appear on the left side of the page. If you see, you have the option to skip the phone number step.

    Confirm phone number. Choose VERIFY (CONFIRMED) when prompted, then open the message sent from Google, view the 6-digit code mentioned in the message, enter it in the "Enter code" field and select NEXT (CONTINUE).
    • Skip this step if you already chose Skip (Skip) in the previous step.

16. 

    Scroll down and select I AGREE (I AGREE) at the bottom right corner of the screen.

17. 

    Choose NEXT (CONTINUED) and you should see your new Gmail inbox. You can now add contacts, organize emails, and more.
    • You can use your Gmail account to sign in to some services like Youtube, Google Drive and Google Docs.

• Gmail comes pre-installed in most Android phones because you need a Google account to access services on your Android device.

Warning

• Make sure your password is easy to remember but difficult to guess when using it to create a Gmail account.
