This is an article to guide you on how to change the date of birth displayed on your personal Facebook page. You can do this on the phone app and on the Facebook website. If you're not comfortable with sharing your birthday on Facebook, you can always hide this information.

Steps

Method 1 of 2: On smartphones

1. 

   Open the Facebook app with a white "f" logo on a blue background. Once you open the app, you'll see your Facebook News Feed if you're signed in to your Facebook account on your phone or tablet.
   • If you are not logged into Facebook, you will enter your email address (or phone number) and password to continue.

   Touch the icon ☰ In the bottom-right corner of the screen (on iPhone) or in the top-right corner of the screen (on Android phones).

   Tap on your name at the top of the menu. This will take you to your personal page.

   Choose About (Introduction) below your avatar.
   • On Android, you'll scroll down to see the option About (Introduce).

   Scroll down to the "BASIC INFO" section and select it Edit (Edit). Knot Edit (Edit) on the right side of the screen, on a par with the "Basic Information" title.
   • On an Android phone, you must choose More About You (More about you) on this page first.

   Edit your date of birth. There are two sections underneath the "BIRTHDAY" heading, which is your date and month of birth, and the "Birth Year" is your year of birth. Change this information as follows:
   • Touch the month, day, or year to display the selection list.
   • Select the month, day, or year you want to display.
   • Repeat this for each value you want to change.

   Scroll down and select Save (Save) below the "Edit Profile" page. This will update the date of birth in the "About" section of your profile. advertisement

Method 2 of 2: On the computer

1. 

   Go to the Facebook page. Type https://www.facebook.com into your favorite browser. This will take you to the News Feed section if you are already logged into your Facebook account.
   • If you aren't logged into Facebook, enter your email address (or phone number) and password to continue.

   Click on the name. Your name is showing up in the upper-right corner of your Facebook page. Click on it to switch to your profile.

   Click the card About (Introduction) in the bottom-right corner of your avatar.

   Click Contact and Basic Info (Basic information and contact) on the left side of the About page.

5. 

   Scroll down to the birthday section below the "BASIC INFO" heading to edit it and do the following:
   • Choose your date of birth or year of birth.
   • Click Edit (Edit) on the right side of the page.
   • Click the month, day, or year you want to change.
   • Click the new month, day or year.
   • Repeat this for each birthday information you want to change.

   Click Save Changes (Save Changes) is below the currently displayed window. This keeps your date of birth updated in the "About" section of your profile. advertisement

Advice

• Ideally you should enter your date of birth on Facebook. If you're not comfortable with that, you can still hide your date of birth on your profile page.
• You can only change the date of your birth twice before Facebook blocks your right to change this information for a few days.

Warning

• You must be 13 years old to use Facebook. So keep this in mind when changing the date of birth.
