This is an article on how to unzip and open RAR files. In fact, RAR files are folders containing many files that have been compressed to save space. With the help of free software, you can extract and open RAR files on iPhone, Android, Windows PC and Mac computer.

Steps

Method 1 of 4: On iPhone

    Import unarchiver into Spotlight. This is the action to find Unarchiver application on the computer.

    Click The Unarchiver. This app shows up above Spotlight search results. A new window will appear.

    Click Ask every time (Always ask again) when asked. This ensures Unarchiver always asks you if you want to unzip the RAR file.

    Navigate to the RAR file. Open Finder by clicking the blue face icon in the Mac Dock section, then clicking the folder where the RAR file is saved in the left pane of the Finder window.
    • You may have to click on other folders to find the RAR file.

    Select the RAR file. Click the RAR file in the Finder window to select it.

    Click File (File). This menu appears in the upper left corner of the screen.

    Choose Open With (Open with). This is an option from the menu File. Another menu will appear to the right of the currently displayed one.

    Click Unarchiver in the currently displayed menu. Your RAR file will be opened with Unarchiver.

    Select the folder to extract. Click a folder on the left side of the window to choose where to save the extracted RAR file.

    Click Extract (Decompression). This is the option in the lower-right corner of the Unarchiver window. With this action, Unarchiver will convert the RAR file into the normal folder where the selected data is stored.
