This article teaches you how to find the address of an image on the Internet. The easiest and most common way is to search using Google, but you can still find the URL of the image using most search engines. If you want to set the URL for the photo from your computer, you can upload the image to Imgur and copy the link from here.

Steps

Method 1 of 4: Use Google on a computer

1. 

   (Search) to the right of the data entry box. This will search for the photo in Google according to the information you entered.

   • If you don't have Google Chrome, you can download the app for free from the iPhone's App Store or Android's Google Play Store.

Method 3 of 4: Find the URL path in other browsers

   Find the photo you want to address. You can get the addresses of most images found online.

   See the original version of the photo. Some websites will display a thumbnail image instead of a full-size image. If you get the URL link here, you will have the URL path of the thumbnail. So, you need to open the image in full size in the browser.
   • For example, the images in this article are thumbnail images. To see the photo in full size, you need to click on the photo to open it in a new window.

   Right click on the photo. After you find the photo for which you want the URL, right-click on the image to open a drop-down menu.
   • If using a Mac with a one-button mouse, hold down the key Ctrl and click on the photo to open the right-click menu.
   • On a mobile interface (such as phone or tablet), you can touch and hold the photo and then touch select. Copy the URL (Copy URL) or Copy Link (Copy path). Not all browsers have this option.

   Copy the URL of the image. You will click on one of the following options in the drop-down list depending on the browser you are using:
   • Chrome Click Copy image address (Copy photo address)
   • Firefox Click Copy Image Location (Copy photo address)
   • Microsoft Edge Click Copy link (Copy link)
   • Internet Explorer Click Properties (Properties), select the URL path to the right of the "Address" header and press Ctrl+C.
   • Safari Click Copy image address (Copy photo address)

   Paste the image URL. After you have copied the image URL, the path will be copied to your computer's clipboard. You can paste the link anywhere, such as messages, documents, or in the address bar of the browser.
   • If you copy other data before pasting the path, the copied URL will be replaced with the new data.

Method 4 of 4: Use Imgur

1. Understand the purpose of this approach. If you want to set the URL for a file on your computer, you can upload the file to the file hosting website (like Imgur) and copy the path. Imgur is the most popular example.

2. 

   Open Imgur. Go to https://imgur.com/ in your computer's browser to open the Imgur homepage.

3. 

   Click the button New post (New Post) in green at the top of the home page to open a menu.

   Click the button Browse (Browse) is gray in the middle of the currently displayed menu. This will open File Explorer (on Windows) or Finder (on the Mac).

   Select pictures from computer. Go to the folder where you want to upload the photos, then click to select the photos.

   Click Open (Open) in the lower-right corner of the window to upload the selected photo to Imgur.
   • You can give a name to a photo by clicking in the input field above the photo and typing a name.

   Click the button Copy (Copy) gray to the right of the image URL in the upper-right corner of the page. This will copy the URL of the image to your computer's clipboard.

• Search engines like Bing function similarly to Google, but Google is the most commonly used search engine.
