This wikiHow teaches you how to save Facebook photos to your computer, phone or tablet. You need a Facebook account to do this. But keep in mind that we cannot upload other people's cover photos.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: On the computer
Open Facebook. Go to https://www.facebook.com/ in a web browser. Your News Feed page will open if you are logged in.
- If you are not logged into your Facebook account, you need to enter your email address (or phone number) and password in the upper left of the page to log in.
Go to the photo you want to download. Scroll on the News Feed until you find a photo you want to download, or go to the profile of the person who posted it to find it.- You cannot save a cover photo on Facebook.
- You can access a person's profile by clicking on the search bar at the top of the Facebook page, entering the name of the audience, clicking their first name in the drop-down menu, then clicking their profile from the results.
Click on the photo. The picture opens in full screen.
Choose an image. Place the mouse pointer on the image. You will see a number of different options appear around the frame.
- Right mouse pointer is on the image you want to load.
Click Options (Option). When the mouse pointer is over the image, this option will appear in the lower right corner of the image. After you click here, a menu will pop up.
Click Download (Download). The option is near the top of the pop-up menu. The photo will be downloaded to your computer.
- On some browsers, you will need to choose a save location and click OK.
- The browser's default download location is the folder Downloads.
Method 2 of 2: On the phone
Open Facebook. Tap the white "f" Facebook app icon on a blue background. Your News Feed page will open if you are logged in.
- If you are not logged into your Facebook account, you need to enter your email address (or phone number) and password in the upper left of the page to log in.
Go to the photo you want to download. Scroll on the News Feed until you find a photo you want to download, or go to the profile of the person who posted it to find it.
- You cannot save a cover photo on Facebook.
- You can access a person's profile by tapping the search bar at the top of the Facebook page, entering the subject's name, tapping their name in the drop-down menu, and then tapping their profile from the results.
Click on the image to open it.
Long press on the photo. A menu will pop up after one to two seconds.
Click Save Photo (Save image) when displayed. Options at the top of the pop-up menu. The photo will be saved to your phone or tablet. advertisement
Advice
- When clicking the menu Options On your own photos, you'll see more options than if you did the same on other people's photos.
- You can also save a picture on most computers by opening it up, right-clicking it, and selecting it Save image as ... (or similar option) in the drop-down menu that appears, choose a save location, and then click OK.
- If you use the shortcut key combination Ctrl+S (or ⌘ Command+S on Mac), the computer will save the web page, not save the image you choose.
Warning
- The images posted on Facebook belong to the person who posted them. Do not repost this picture anywhere without their consent, but if you post, you must specify the source.
