This article will show you how to block calls from anonymous numbers on an iPhone or Android device. To do this, use the Do Not Disturb feature on your iPhone or change the call settings on your Samsung smartphone. If you have another Android smartphone, install the “Off-hook” application, with which you can block anonymous calls. Unfortunately, there are no settings or applications on the iPhone that block calls from anonymous (hidden) numbers.

Steps

Method 1 of 3: On iPhone

1. 1 Open iPhone Settings . Click on the gear icon on the home screen.
2. 2 Scroll down and tap Do Not Disturb . It's near the top of the settings page.
3. 3 Click on the white slider next to the Do Not Disturb option. It will turn green .
4. 4 Click on Call admission. It's near the bottom of the screen.
5. 5 Click on From all of us. This will select your entire contact list as an exception for Do Not Disturb. In this case, you will not receive calls from people whose phone numbers are not in your Contacts application.
   • This method blocks calls from any numbers that are not in the Contacts application, that is, you can miss an important call (for example, at work).
   • Do Not Disturb also blocks notifications from other apps (such as text message notifications, email notifications, and so on).

Method 2 of 3: On Samsung Galaxy

1. 1 Make sure you have a Samsung smartphone. Samsung smartphones are the only Android devices with built-in anonymous call blocking.
   • If you are using a non-Samsung Android smartphone, go to the next section.
2. 2 Open the Phone app. To do this, click on the handset-shaped icon on the home screen.
3. 3 Click on ⋮. This icon is in the upper right corner of the screen. A dropdown menu will open.
4. 4 Click on Settings. You will find this option at the bottom of the dropdown menu.
5. 5 Click on Block numbers. It's in the middle of the menu. Call blocker settings will open.
6. 6 Click on the gray slider next to the "Block anonymous calls" option. It will turn blue ... Now the Samsung smartphone will block any calls from unknown numbers.

Method 3 of 3: Using the “Off-hook” app on your Android device

1. 1 Download the "Don't Pick Up" app. If your smartphone already has such an application, skip this step. To download the app:
   • Open Play Store .
   • Click on the search bar.
   • Enter don't pick up the phone.
   • Click on "Don't Pick Up".
   • Click Install.
   • Click “Accept”.
2. 2 Launch the "Off-hook" application. Click “Open” on the right side of the Play Store page, or click the “Off-hook” application icon on the Home screen or in the “App Drawer” application.
3. 3 Double click on Proceed. This button is at the bottom of the screen. The main page of the application will open.
4. 4 Click on the tab Settings. It's at the top of the screen.
5. 5 Scroll down to the "Block incoming calls from" section. It's at the bottom of the screen.
6. 6 Click on the gray slider next to the "Hidden Numbers" option. The slider color will change , which means that the application will block incoming calls from hidden (anonymous) numbers.
   • Now you can close the application - the settings will be saved, and the application itself will run in the background.

Tips

• If you live in the United States of America, register your phone number with the “Do Not Call” registry; To do this, go to https://www.donotcall.gov/register/reg.aspx, click REGISTER HERE, and then enter your phone number and email address. In this case, telemarketers and spammers are required to remove your phone number from the lists within 31 days.
