• If you cannot immerse the object in oil, use a cooking oil spray.

Spread the tofu butter on the remaining sticker. The oil in peanut butter will break up adhesion. Spread the sticker a thin layer of peanut butter — any type of peanut butter will work. Let it sit for a few minutes before wiping it off with warm soapy water and sponge.

Use mayonnaise. Oil in mayonnaise loosens any glue left over from the sticker. Any mayonnaise has a flaking effect. Apply some mayonnaise to the remaining glue. Leave on for 15 minutes. Then, wipe with a dry cloth.

• You may have to repeat this process if the residue is too thick or doesn't come off the first time.

Method 2 of 3: Chemical removal

   Wipe the adhesive with rubbing alcohol. Use a can of isopropyl alcohol— preferably a 90% solution. Pour a small amount into the old towel and start wiping off the glue. The glue should start to peel off a minute or more after rubbing it.

2. 

   Spray grease on the sticker. You can use a degreaser like WD-40 to wipe off the sticker. First, try the WD-40 on the plastic pad to make sure it doesn't damage the sticker if you plan on keeping it. Then, spray the degreasing agent onto a clean cloth or spray directly onto the sticker or residue glue. Use a washcloth in a circular motion until the sticker comes off.

   Soak the sticker in nail polish remover. Soak the sticker in a nail polish remover cup. If you don't have enough nail polish remover, you can spill it onto the cloth and wipe off the sticker. The sticker will be easily removed if you wait a few minutes for the detergent to react. advertisement

Method 3 of 3: Remove the residue glue

1. 

   Use baking soda and warm water to remove the glue. Mix the flour together with baking powder and a little water. Then use the paste and cloth to wipe off the glue. If it does not come off, wipe off the paste from the adhesive and let it sit for a few minutes.

   Use table salt and wet towels. Sprinkle with a little salt to harden the glue. Then, wipe the sticker with a wet sterile cloth until it starts to peel off. You may need to use lots of wet towels.

   Rub the eraser over the remainder. Conventional erasers used to erase a pencil can be used. Rub the eraser vigorously over the remainder until it starts to peel off. Continue until most or all of the remainder is removed. If there is still a little left, you can use the blade to remove it.

   Use the blade. It is better to use a plastic blade to remove the remaining glue. You can find specialized blades for removing sticker on Amazon or similar websites. Look for stamp and sticker remover. Place the tip of the knife under the remainder. Then, move the blade back and forth until the rest starts to come off. Continue using the blade until most or all of the remainder is completely removed. advertisement

Advice

• Be sure to wear gloves when using chemical solutions.
• Instead of peanut butter, you can use margarine or a hand cream. They will be effective in dissolving the adhesive that sticks to the glass.
• Soak plastic items in a mixture of hot water and dishwashing liquid.Use a clean scrub brush to remove any residue from your adhesive removal method, such as WD-40.

Warning

• Be careful when using nail polish remover. Some brands contain acetone, which can melt plastic.
• Try a degreaser in a hidden location on plastic. Detergent can melt some plastics.
