In this article, we are going to show you how to free up space on your Samsung Galaxy by cleaning up storage and deleting junk files.

Steps

1. 1 Launch the Settings app. Swipe down from the top of the screen, then tap in the upper right corner.
2. 2 Click on Optimization on the settings page. A new page displays options that you can use to optimize your device.
3. 3 Tap Memory. This option is at the bottom of the page; under the option you will find the amount of free memory. The memory information will open on a new page.
4. 4 Click on Clear. It's in the middle of the page. Some space will be freed by removing unnecessary data such as file cache and advertising cookies.
   • The amount of space that will be freed is displayed below the specified option. For example, if you see the "Empty (1.5 GB)" option, 1.5 gigabytes of space will be reclaimed.
5. 5 Select a category in the "User Data" section. In this section, all user files are divided into categories: "Documents", "Pictures", "Audio", "Video" and "Applications". When you touch a category, a list of all the files that are included in it will appear.
   • To the right of each category, the space occupied by its files is displayed.
6. 6 Select the files you want to delete. To do this, tap the files - green check marks will appear next to them.
   • To select all files at once, click "All" in the upper left corner.
7. 7 Tap Delete. It's in the upper right corner. All selected files will be deleted, freeing up space on the device.
