This wikiHow teaches you how to cancel your Amazon Prime membership to stop renewing. You can do this on both the website and the Amazon app.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: On the computer
Open Amazon Prime membership cancellation page. Visit this page in your computer's web browser. You will reach the "End Your Amazon Prime Membership" page.
Click End Membership (End of membership). This yellow button is near the top of the page. You will be redirected to the login page.
Sign in to Amazon. Enter your email address and password, then click Sign in (Log in). Your account will be verified.
- Even if you signed in to your Amazon account before, you still have to click Sign in in the middle of the page.
Click Continue to Cancel (Continue to cancel). This yellow button is near the bottom of the page.
End your Amazon Prime membership. Here, you will have two choices: when you click End Now (Ends now) Prime membership will be canceled for the remainder of the current billing cycle, and payment for this month's Prime plan will also be refunded, if you clicked End on (Ends in) Amazon Prime membership will continue and end upon renewal.
Wait for the confirmation page. When the "Cancellation confirmed" page appears, Prime membership has been canceled. advertisement
Method 2 of 2: On the phone
Open Amazon. Click on the Amazon app with the "amazon" logo on the shopping cart.
Press the button ☰ with a three-line icon in the upper left corner of the screen. A menu will pop up.
Click Your Account (Your account). This option is near the top of the pop-up menu.
Click Manage Prime Membership (Manage membership). This option is in the "Account settings" section of the menu.
Sign in to Amazon. Enter your email address and password when prompted.
- Even if the login information has been saved, you still need to click Sign in.
- If you use an iPhone with the Touch ID sensor, you may be asked to scan your fingerprints.
Scroll down and tap End Membership. This option is near the bottom of the page. Next, the cancellation confirmation process will begin.
Scroll down and tap I Do Not Want My Benefits (I don't want my own benefits). This option is at the bottom of the page.
- You probably won't see this option. Then, skip to the next step.
Scroll down and tap End Membership. This option is near the bottom of the page.
Press the button End on near the center of the screen. Auto-renewal of Prime membership will be canceled; at the end of the current billing cycle membership will end.
- You may also see options End Now here. When you tap this option, your Prime membership will be canceled immediately, and Amazon will refund your payment for the rest of the billing cycle.
Advice
- It's best to cancel your Amazon Prime account several days before your membership renews.
Warning
- When you cancel your Amazon Prime account, the free unlimited photo storage and Cloud Drive access will terminate. You need a payment if you want to continue using these features.
