Seller and buyer can cancel orders on eBay as long as both parties agree. Buyers can request a cancellation up to 1 hour after the transaction, as long as the seller has not shipped the item. Sellers may cancel up to 30 days after the transaction, but they may receive a negative response after canceling the application. An auction participant may also withdraw the offered price in certain situations.

Steps

Method 1 of 3: Buyers cancel the order

1. 

   Log into the eBay website within 1 hour of your purchase. You can request to cancel your order within the first hour of purchase and when the item is not marked as "Sent". Agree to cancel the application or not depends on the seller. The buyer does not have the right to force the seller to cancel the order because the auction and buying means your intention to buy.
   • You could try submitting cancellation requests more than 1 hour after purchase, it just makes it easier for eBay to process requests within the first hour.

   Open the "Purchase history" item in "My eBay" (My eBay). This page will display a list of items you recently purchased on eBay.

   Find the order you want to cancel. As long as it is still within the first hour and the seller has not shipped the item, you can request a cancellation.

   Click the "More actions" link. You will find this link under the "Leave feedback" button.

   Choose "Ask to cancel order" or "Cancel item" (Cancel item). Cancellation terms will appear.
   • If you don't see this option, the order is probably past the first hour or the seller has shipped. If the order has passed the first hour but has not yet been delivered, you can submit a cancellation request by selecting "Contact seller".

   Click "Contact seller" (Contact seller). You will see a message form for the seller.

   Present the reason for wanting to cancel the application to the seller. The seller is not required to cancel your order. If they give a good reason, they will more likely accept your request.

   Wait for a response from the seller. If they accept your cancellation request, the order will be canceled and your account will not receive a negative response.
   • If the seller does not agree to cancel the order, your choice is to accept and pay for the purchased item, or decide not to pay. Failure to pay your account will be marked as "unpaid item" violated. An account can be deactivated if checked multiple times.

Method 2 of 3: Seller cancels the order

1. 

   Open the "Sold" page in the "My eBay" menu. If you have received a cancellation request from a buyer, you can access the menu "My eBay" and do not receive any negative feedback on the account. You may cancel an order 30 days after the sale, but may experience a negative response.
   • You have 3 days to accept or decline the buyer's request to cancel the application. Within the specified time, the person requesting the cancellation cannot leave negative feedback or judge you as a poor seller.
   • You can cancel the order 30 days after the buyer has paid for the item you have not submitted, but this may be considered insufficient and underestimated.

   Find the order the buyer wants to cancel. Find orders that buyers have requested to cancel in recent transactions. Find the application code if needed.
   • You can only cancel entire orders, not individual items in a multi-item order.

   Click on the link "More actions". You can find this link under the "Leave feedback" button.

   Choose "Cancel this order" (Cancel this order). This is the action that will initiate the order cancellation process.
   • You can't cancel the order if the buyer marks the order as "Item not received" or you check "Unpaid item".

   Select "The buyer asked to cancel the order" in the "Select a reason" menu. For this reason, your account will not be marked as missing.

   Refunds if needed. If the buyer has paid for the product, a PayPal window will appear, allowing you to refund the buyer. Simply click "Send Refund" and PayPal will process all of it.
   • If a buyer pays by another method, you have 10 days to refund them using that method.

7. 

   Check to see if you are getting the final value fee. If you refund a canceled order, eBay will refund the fee to you. This happens automatically as soon as the buyer confirms the refund. You can use this for future listings, but you can't make purchases on eBay. advertisement

Method 3 of 3: Withdraw paid price

1. 

   Determine if you are eligible for a given price withdrawal. Under normal circumstances, eBay does not allow you to withdraw the price paid during the auction. Bidding also means that you commit to buy if you win the auction. Here are a few situations where you are allowed to withdraw your paid price:
   • You entered the wrong amount (for example $ 100 instead of $ 10) due to a mistake. Automatic change of mind is not accepted.
   • Item description is changed after you bid.
   • You cannot contact the seller.

2. 

   Check how much longer the auction is to end. The remaining time of the auction determines whether you can afford to withdraw the bid, and you must meet one of the following conditions:
   • More than 12 hours - You are allowed to withdraw the price paid. All prices you have offered will be forfeited.
   • Less than 12 hours - You can only withdraw the last price paid. Only the price you most recently paid is canceled.

   Open the Bid Retraction form. Visit to find form prices.

   Enter the product code to be auctioned. You can find this information in the auction page.

5. 

   Select an explanation. You must select one of the 3 options in the first step of this section.

   Click on "Retract bid" and wait for the decision. Your withdrawal request will be reviewed by eBay, you will be notified after they decide whether the request has been approved.

7. 

   Contact the seller if eBay rejects the requested withdrawal request. You can still withdraw the price paid if you can contact the seller. However, there is no guarantee that your request will be accepted as it is entirely up to the discretion of the seller. advertisement
