You can add shower gel or hand soap to the water if you want, but don't soak your hands in oily water. While soaking your hands in oily water is a very effective way to keep your hands moist, letting the oil get on your hands before applying fake nails will make it harder to stick.

Cut and file the nails. Use a nail clipper and nail clipper to cut nails of equal length. You will be able to keep your nails short, but do not cut them too short because you need to leave a small edge to help the fake nail stick more easily. Then, use a nail file to even out the edges.

Method 2 of 3: Apply fake nails

Attach the nail first. Apply some glue to the real nail and apply a little more glue to the inside of the nail - the part that is glued to the real nail (not the top of the nail). Carefully attach the nail to the real nail so that the bottom edge of the nail fits into the cuticle contour. Press down on the nail and hold it for about 10 seconds for the nail to stick.
- Make sure the nail is glued to the real nail with no gaps.
- Don't use too much glue. You should not allow the glue to spill, using a little glue should be enough. If the glue is spilled, you can gently wipe it off with a cotton swab.
- Be careful not to attach misaligned nails as the glue dries up very quickly.
- Attach the nail to your dominant hand first.
Do the same for the remaining nails. Stick each nail with glue one by one. Be sure to press firmly on the nail for 10 seconds so that the fake nail sticks to the real nail.
File your nails to create the shape you want. You can use a regular nail file tool to file square or round nails or whatever shape you want. If you are comfortable with the existing shape of the nail, there is no need to file! advertisement

Method 3 of 3: Decorating the nail

nail polish. Some fake nails come with designs already, but if you don't have any color, you can add some extra decorations. If you want a vintage look then just pick a nice paint color. Besides the monochrome paint style, you can try the following styles:

Make sure your nails are large enough and fit so they don't reveal your real nail underneath.
