This article will guide you how to send files via Facebook Messenger or Facebook.com.

Method 1 of 3: Use Facebook Messenger on phone or tablet

1. 

   Open the Facebook Messenger app. The icon is a blue conversation bubble with a white flash inside, visible on the home screen (for iPhone / iPad) or in the app tray (for Android. ).

   Choose a contact. You click on the name of the person you want to send the file to to open a conversation with that person.
   • You can find current contact by pressing button Home (Home) or a new contact by pressing People (Everybody).

   Send photos. If you want to send a photo from your device's camera, you will click on the square icon inside the moon on the mountain, then click on the photo to select it.

   Send other files. You will press the plus sign (+) under chat to see all options, then choose the file type you want to send. Follow the instructions on the screen to send the file. advertisement

Method 2 of 3: Use Messenger.com on a desktop

1. 

   Visit the page www.messenger.com in the browser. You will need a calculator to use this method.

   Sign in to Messenger. If you are not logged in, enter your username and password to login.

   Choose a contact. Click on the name of the person you want to send the file to on the left side.

   Click the file icon. This icon looks like a stack of paper on the bottom of a conversation.

   Select the file you want to send. In the window that opens, navigate to the file you want to send, then click once to select it.
   • To select multiple files at the same time, press and hold the key Ctrl (on Windows) or ⌘ Command (on macOS) when selecting each file.

   Press the button Open (Open). This will send the file to the recipient. advertisement

Method 3 of 3: Use Facebook.com on a computer

1. 

   Visit the page www.facebook.com in the browser.

2. 

   Log in to Facebook. You will enter your account name in the box in the upper right corner of the screen and press Log In (Log in).

   Select a contact in chat. You can click on the person's name in the box to the right of the Facebook page.

   Click the paperclip icon. This icon is second from right, below the chat box.

   Select a file. You'll find the directory where the file is located, left-click once to select it, then click Open (Open).
   • To select multiple files at the same time, you will press and hold the key Ctrl (on Windows) or ⌘ Command (on macOS) when selecting each file.

6. 

   Press ↵ Enter (on Windows) or ⏎ Return to send files. After a few moments, you will see the file has been sent. You can double click on the file name to view the contents. advertisement
