Communicating in today's increasingly virtual communities has two sides: interesting and boring. While most people prefer anonymity, it is not easy to maintain it. There are different ways to text anonymously. Read the article below to discover how to send anonymous messages.

Steps

Method 1 of 4: By email account

1. 

   Create a new email account. You probably don't want to use your personal account, as the recipient will be able to see your personal information (name, email address, etc.).    Combine the phone number with the corresponding carrier email. In other words, you need to compose an email sent to the recipient's phone, not the email account. Just enter 10 phone numbers (without hyphens or spaces) and choose one of the following email templates with specific carriers in the US:

   • T-Mobile: SMS / MMS: [email protected]

   Compose a new email using the account you just created. After collecting the necessary information about the person to whom you will be texting, log in to your new email account and compose your message. Enter the recipient's phone number and corresponding carrier's email address form in the list above in the address line. Then, press Send.
   • In order for the email to reach the recipient to look like a text message, you should leave the Subject line blank.
   • The above contact will receive an anonymous message.

Method 2 of 4: By app on iPhone

1. 

   Choose an app for iPhone. While there is no iPhone app that can hide your real phone number, some will create a new fake phone number for you to send text messages. Here are some of the apps that have this ability.
   • Pinger
   • TextPlus
   • TextNow
   • Burner
   • Wickr
   • Backchat

   Open the App Store. Click Search in the lower-right side of the screen.

   Enter the name of the application of your choice. Or you can do a general search using keywords Anonymous Text (Anonymous Text). Many different results will appear. Tap an app (most of these are free), select GET, then tap Install.

   Enter your Apple ID password. After you click Install, the system will ask for a password confirmation. Enter your password in the required fields and click OK.

   Click Open. Once the app is installed, tap Open. You will be asked to login or register. Click register and enter your phone number. Note: you must enter your real phone number in this step. The application will send you a message containing a confirmation code. After successful registration, the application will ask you to create a new virtual phone number, or you can allow the app to choose a random number.
   • Note: some free apps, such as Burner, will require you to pay to send anonymous messages.

   Message. Once setup is complete, just compose a message on the app. Enter the phone number of the contact you want to send the message to, then press Send.

Method 3 of 4: By app on Android

1. 

   Choose an app for Android. Here are a few options that can both hide phone numbers and texting for Android phones:
   • Anonytext
   • Anonymous Texting
   • Private Text Messaging
   • Anonymous SMS

   Open Google Play Store. Tap the Google Play icon, select the three horizontal lines icon in the upper left corner of the screen, and then tap the Store Home homepage.

   Click the search icon in the upper right corner. Enter the name of the application of your choice or search for the general keyword Anonymous Text.

   Select an anonymous messaging app. These applications include both free and paid fees. After considering, tap the app you want to download.
   • Depending on whether the selected application is free or not, you need to click the Install button or the corresponding price.

   Open the app. Once installed, just open the app. Some apps will allow you to send some free text messages, others charge a fee when you actually start using the service.

Method 4 of 4: By anonymous messaging sites

   Select an anonymous messaging site. You can search online for keywords like Anonymous Texting or Free Anonymous Text Messaging.

   Read the terms of the website of your choice. These basic rules generally prohibit you from using the service for fraud, harassment or other criminal acts. Additional terms may be related to service fees, frequency of use, privacy, etc.

   Compose and send messages. Enter your message, review any requests the website may have made at the last minute and click the Submit or Send button.
