Adobe Flash Player (also referred to as Flash) is one of the unfamiliar standards of the internet, responsible for transmitting a wealth of multimedia resources to the browser everywhere. If your browser does not have Adobe Flash Player installed, or has already installed it but the version is out of date, now is the time to update! This article will guide you on how to download and install Adobe Flash Player on your computer and browser. Read on below!

Steps

1. 

   Visit Adobe.com. Use the browser where you want to install Adobe Flash Player to go to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/. The Flash Player download page will recognize your browser and operating system and provide the appropriate installation for your download.
   • Check that the information is correct. Note that on some browsers, you may be advised to download Chrome as well. If you want this option, keep the checkmark in the box. If not, make sure you uncheck the box.
   • If you also want to download McAfee Security Scan Plus (anti-virus software), just keep the check mark in the box. If you do not want to install the program, uncheck the box.

   Click the yellow "Download now" button and save the file if prompted. Unless you choose to store it in another specific location, the file will usually be saved to the browser's Downloads folder.

   Open the installer. Locate the file "AdobeFlashPlayerInstaller_" on the drive and double-click to open it.

   Launch the installer. When the Adobe Flash Player disc image appears, double-click the "Install Adobe Flash Player" icon in the window.

   Accept warnings. A dialog box will pop up asking if you are sure you trust the content downloaded from Adobe. Since they are a reputable company, feel free to click "Open".

   Log in. On a Mac computer, you will be asked to enter your username and password to log in as admin (administrator). Please login, then click "OK" to continue.

   Install Adobe Flash Player. A progress bar showing the installation status will appear. Once done, click the "Finish" button.

   The installation is complete! You can now use Flash Player! advertisement

Advice

• It is recommended that you update Flash Player every one or two months for the latest updates on bug and security improvements.

Warning

• Check the file you are downloading. In some cases, a Chrome installation file with a size of about 47MB will load by default. If free memory or loading times are too demanding (or your computer already has Chrome) then you may need a reconsideration.
