Grindr is a mobile location based dating app for men and transsexuals in the LGBTQ + community, you just need to create an account to start chatting with others in the app. Grindr can be used in a variety of ways with the aim of finding people with the same gender and gender identity in your area. Then, you can start chatting with them on the app to make friends, build social networks or work, even find a lover.

Steps

Part 1 of 4: Creating an account

1. 

   Install Grindr on phone or tablet. The app can be downloaded for free from the App Store (iOS) or the Play Store (Android).

   Open Grindr. This orange-masked app is usually located on your home screen or app drawer (if you have an Android device).

   Click Sign Up (Registration) in the upper right corner.

   Fill out the form. You need to enter your email address, create a password and confirm your date of birth.

   Choose your subscription method. If you'd like to create an account using an email address, fill out the form and tap finish (Completed). If you want to connect your account to Google or Facebook, tap one of these options at the bottom, then follow the onscreen instructions to sign in.
   • You may be prompted to complete a simple verification that proves you are not a robot.

   Go through the terms and click Proceed (Continue). A confirmation message will appear.

   Click Accept (Accept). This will confirm that you agree to Grindr's terms and privacy policy. You will then be logged into Grindr and be able to begin creating a profile. advertisement

Part 2 of 4: Create a profile

1. 

   Click Add Photo to add an avatar. This will be the first image of you that Grindr users see. Follow the on-screen instructions to take a new photo or choose from your phone / tablet.
   • Smile so naturally and brightly, and then take a photo by yourself. If you want the best results, you can apply tips on how to become photogenic.
   • Grindr does not allow the use of nudity / pornography, revealing genitals or wearing only underwear for profile pictures.

   Click Display Name (Display Name) to enter a name. This could be your name or a short sentence (phrase) to attract attention.

   Enter the age. If you want to show age on your profile, tap Age to enter the age number. If not, you can swipe the "Show Age" switch to the Off position (gray).

   Click I'm Looking For (I'm looking for) to choose specific relationships. Other members will see this information when viewing your profile.

   Click next (Next). So your profile has been filled out with the most basic information and is currently active. You can still add more information if you want.

   Click on the avatar. The avatar is the first option below the "WHO with NEARBY" heading. Information that others can see about you will be displayed here.

7. 

   Click Edit Profile (Edit profile) is at the bottom of your profile page. You can click here at any time to add or edit other profile details, such as information about appearance, relationship status, ethnicity, title, HIV infection or not, among others. other information.
   • Briefly enter the About Me field on the profile. This field has a limited number of characters and numbers, so avoid adding irrelevant information.
   • Click My Tribes (Ethnicity) to select identity information.
   • If you want to link the profile to other social media accounts, scroll down and select Instagram, Twitter or Facebook, then follow the on-screen instructions to log in.

Part 3 of 4: Navigating on the App

1. 

   Open Grindr. When the app launches, it opens up the home screen, where you can find matches and new users around. Below the screen there will be an icon bar with various features, along with a link to your profile (the first icon below the "WHO on NEARBY" heading).

   Get familiar with the icon bar. This is a bar with 5 icons at the bottom of the screen.
   • Menu FILTERS (in the top center of the icon bar) allows you to filter users by specific criteria, such as age, who they're searching, who are online right now, and so on.
   • A star icon shows the users you have added to favorites.
   • The masking icon will bring you back to the home screen.
   • The missile icon allows you to discover users in other regions.
   • The dialogue bubble icon will open a message. You can also tap a card Taps At the top of this section to see who sent you the "Tap". When someone looks at your profile and is interested in you, they will click on the fire icon on your profile to express their desire to connect.
   • The dialogue bubble will show chats. When you have a new message, the icon changes to a number.
   • Icon XTRA shows upgrade options to Grindr version without ads. The paid version also includes read invoices, unlimited selectable blocks / favorites, as well as allows you to scroll across profiles.

3. 

   Change settings. The Settings menu allows you to control how the application works:
   • Click on your avatar.
   • Click the cog in the upper-right corner of the profile.
   • All account-related customizations (such as passwords, upgrade options, and associated email addresses) will show up under the "ACCOUNT" heading. Depending on your current device, you can also adjust the notifications.
   • The audio and notification options are below the "PREFERENCES" heading.
   • Specify who can find your profile and view your location under the "SECURITY" heading.

   Click on the image to view other people's profile. The larger version of the profile, any details the user responded to, and when they were online will appear. Depending on the user's privacy settings, you may be able to see how well they are suited to you.
   • Click the star at the top of the screen to add certain users to favorites.
   • Click on the warning sign (circle with a straight line through) to prevent this user from seeing or interacting with you.

Part 4 of 4: Sending messages

1. 

   Tap the profile of the person you want to chat with. Their profile information will appear.
   • If you want to reply to messages received from someone, tap the dialogue bubble at the bottom of the home screen (fourth icon from left) to open your inbox, then tap the message you want. reply.

   Tap on the chat bubble to open the message screen. The message composing screen will appear.
   • If you want to show your excitement but are not ready to text, tap the flame icon at the bottom of that user's profile to send a Tap. Tap is a signal that you are interested or think someone is interesting, and they will be in the mailbox in the section Taps.

3. 

   Send messages, pictures or stickers. These are the most common ways to text:
   • Click on the field Say something ... to enter and send text messages.
   • Click on the camera icon to select and send photos.
   • Click on the smiley icon to send the sticker.

4. 

   Send voice messages. If you want to record something and send it to someone else, you can do the following:
   • Hold down the microphone icon to the right of the input area.
   • Continue to keep this icon while recording your message. Messages can be up to 60 seconds long.
   • Release your finger to stop recording. If you reach the 60-second limit before you finish speaking, the recording will stop automatically.
   • Press the play button to listen to the voice message again before sending.
   • Click the submit button.

5. 

   
   
   Send current location. If you want to show someone the current location, tap the compass icon (next to the last icon below) to open the map, then tap. Send Location (Send location). This user will see a map as well as a way to get to your location.

Advice

• Push notifications are only available on Grindr Xtra.
• If your goal is a long-term relationship, set the filter to be visible only to people looking for a spouse to eliminate people who are only interested in casual sex.
• Don't ignore the messages of others as it is quite impolite. If you're not interested, just decline or use the block feature.
• Don't add racist or discriminatory words / phrases to your profile.
• Try to keep the conversation going. Short answers are very difficult to accept.
• Due to the nature of having casual sex, keep it safe and use condoms properly. Even if someone says they are HIV negative and do not have a sexually transmitted disease, you should avoid unprotected sex with strangers.
