This wikiHow teaches you how to force reload pages in your browser. This will refresh the cache and reload the updated information on the page.You can do this on Google Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer and Safari using different key combinations depending on your computer browser.
Steps
Method 1 of 5: Google Chrome
Hold down Ctrl and click on the icon ⟳ on a Windows computer. You can also press and hold Ctrl and press the key F5 to force reload the page.
- Icon ⟳ is to the left of Chrome's address bar.
Hold down ⇧ Shift and click on the icon ⟳ on a Mac computer. You can also press and hold ⌘ Command+⇧ Shift and press the key R to force reload the page.- Reload icon (⟳) is to the left of Chrome's address bar.
Method 2 of 5: Firefox
Hold down Ctrl and press the key F5 on a Windows computer. You can also press and hold Ctrl+⇧ Shift and press the key R to force reload the page.

Method 3 of 5: Microsoft Edge
Hold down Ctrl and press the key F5. The current page on Microsoft Edge will be forced to reload.
- Microsoft Edge is only available on Windows.
Method 4 of 5: Internet Explorer
Hold down Ctrl and click on the icon ⟳. You can also press and hold Ctrl and press the key F5 to force reload the current page.
- Reload icon (⟳) is located in the upper right corner of Internet Explorer's address bar.
- Internet Explorer is only available on Windows.
Method 5 of 5: Safari
Hold down ⇧ Shift and click on the icon ⟳. Reload icon (⟳) is to the right of the Safari address bar. The Safari page will be forced to reload.
- Safari is only available on Mac.
Advice
- While you can't force reloading the page on mobile browsers, you can clear your browser cache and cookies to force all pages on your browser to reload the data to be updated.
Warning
- Force reloading some pages, such as the account creation page, will cause the information you entered to be lost.
