First introduced in Pokémon X and Y, Sliggoo is a bit more difficult to evolve than most Pokémon. This is because Sliggoo only evolves when it rains. Sliggoo may not look like much, but it evolves into the Dragon Pokémon Goodra. A Pokémon that cannot fly but can deliver heavy blows.

To step

1. Level up Sliggoo to at least level 50. Goomy evolves into Sliggoo at level 40, which means you will need to gain 10 additional levels before you can evolve it into Goodra. You can level up Sliggoo's by engaging in battles or by using Rare Candies.
   • Sliggoo is a Dragon-type Pokémon and has strong resistance to Fire, Water, Grass, and Electric. This makes it useful against starter and wild Pokémon, although battles with other Dragon-type Pokémon can be tricky.
   • Level up Sliggoo to level 49, gain enough experience to almost reach level 50, then quit. This way you can quickly level up when it rains, which is what Sliggoo needs to evolve.
2. Find a rainy place. Sliggoo can only evolve when it rains. Rain comes and goes at random, but the chance of rain is higher in the following places / routes:
   • X and Y - Routes 8, 10, 14, 15, 16, 19, 21, Shalour, Kiloude and Couriway. It can take a long time before rain comes, or it can rain right away. Be patient and it will eventually splash. Keep Sliggoo on your team, but do other things. It will probably start to rain when you least expect it.
   • Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby - It always rains on Route 120, in the long grass, making that the best place for Sliggoo to evolve.
   • Rain created through Rain Dance or Drizzle will not bring about any evolution. It must be natural rain.
3. Level up Sliggoo in the rain to evolve into Goodra. You can do this by entering into a battle that gives Sliggoo enough experience to level up, or you give him a Rare Candy to level him up immediately. Either way, Sliggoo must have reached at least level 50 before he can evolve.
