Do it often happen that you come to a site and a message appears that you do not have the required plugin? Here's how you can quickly and easily install a missing plugin on Firefox.

Method 1 of 3: Install a missing plugin

1. Click on the link. If a plug-in does not work properly, is too old, or simply isn't there, a link will appear to a site from which you can download the plug-in. In this article, we'll use a missing Adobe Flash Player extension as an example.
2. Download the plugin. Usually a link to the download page will appear.
3. Follow the procedures to download the software.
   • In this example we will save the file on the desktop, double click on the file to open it.
     
     
4. Close Firefox. You have to, otherwise the installer will not work properly. If you forget, a window will appear telling you to exit Firefox first.
5. Open the installer. You will likely need to agree to the terms and conditions before downloading the software. Read the terms and conditions and agree if everything sounds reasonable. Click on "Continue" or "Install" or other words to the same effect.
6. Check if the installation was successful. Start firefox and select Add-ons under Tools.
   • In the window that now appears you can check whether the plug-in is now in the list and is turned on (In that case, next to the plug-in there is a button that says "Remove").
     
     
   • Check the operation of the plug-in. Go back to the page where the plugin was needed and check if everything is now working properly.

Method 2 of 3: Troubleshooting

1. Give permission. Sometimes Firefox does not allow a plug-in to be installed automatically. You must first give permission.
2. Allow installation of the plugin. click on To allow, now the plugin will be installed. Don't do this if you don't trust the manufacturer or software.
3. Ready. When you restart the browser, the installation of the plug-in will be completed.

Method 3 of 3: Install a new plugin

1. Go to Firefox Add-Ons. Here you will find many plugins.
2. Find the plugin you want to install. You can use the search function at the top left or search in the categories. In this example we are going to install FlashGot.
   • Click on the big green button where it says "+ Add to Firefox"
3. Install the plugin. Click the Install now button, Firefox will restart and install the plugin.
