You can find a lot of goods on Amazon, but it won't be easy to buy without a credit or debit card. Luckily, there are many ways you can shop on Amazon without an international debit card. Prepaid gift cards and credit cards are available at most convenience stores or department stores in the US, and if you have a payment account you can pay directly from this balance.
Steps
Method 1 of 3: Use gift cards
Buy an Amazon gift card. You can find Amazon gift cards from most retailers that offer gift cards, such as supermarkets or convenience stores. You can buy these cards with cash.
- You can also receive gift card allowance from others. They can choose to automatically credit your Amazon gift card account, which you can then spend on Amazon. Get access to setup.
Sign in to Amazon. You need to create an Amazon account if you don't have one. To create an account, enter a name and an email address.
Open the Account page. You can find it by hovering over your name in the upper-right corner and selecting "Your Account".
Click the "Apply a Gift Card to Your Account" link. This option is located in the "Amazon Wallet" section of the account page.
Enter the code on the back of the gift card. This code consists of 14 or 15 alphanumeric characters. You may need to gently scratch off the coating on the plastic gift card. With online gift cards, the code will be in the email sent to you.- Click the "Check" button to check that the code and card balance have been entered correctly.
Click "Apply to your balance". The gift card value will be applied to your Amazon account balance, which will be the default payment method when you make a purchase.
Add products to cart and go to checkout. Now that you've applied the gift card, you can purchase one or more of your choice. You can also pay for the shipping fee with a gift card, as long as your account balance is enough to pay.
Enter the shipping address (for physical goods). You will need to enter your shipping address in order to proceed with the payment process. This information may not be necessary if you are purchasing digital items.
Make sure that a gift card balance is selected as the payment method. You can also enter additional codes on this screen to add a card to your balance.
- If you're asked to enter a billing address for your gift card, you'll need to enter a shipping address there.
Complete the order. Complete the order and wait for the process to be approved. As long as you have enough Amazon gift card balance to cover the product and shipping, your purchase will be processed and delivered without issue. advertisement
Method 2 of 3: Using payment accounts (US only)
Log into the Amazon website. If you have a US billing account, you can link to Amazon and deduct the purchase amount directly from your bank balance. You need to create an Amazon account if you don't have one.
- You can't use a business account, a business account, or a savings account.
Open the "Your Account" page. Hover your mouse pointer over your name in the upper-right corner of the Amazon homepage and select "Your Account".
Click the "Manage Payment Options" link. This link is located in the "Amazon Wallet" section of the account page.
Click "Add checking account". A form will appear.
Enter billing account information. Go through one of the checks to find your bank routing number and account number. Bank routing number used to identify the bank.
- The bank routing number consists of 9 characters, located on the bottom left of the check.
- The account number is to the right of the bank routing number. Make sure you don't include the test number on the right.
Enter your ID number or driver's license. This step is required for your bank account payment method to identify you.
Click "Continue" to submit the form. Amazon will confirm that you entered the correct bank routing number, and the payment method will be added to your account.
Make purchases on Amazon with a bank account. Once you've linked your bank account to your Amazon account, you'll be able to select it as your payment method on purchases. advertisement
Method 3 of 3: Use a prepaid card
Apply for a prepaid card with the issuing bank. To use a prepaid credit card for online purchases, you need to register with the card issuing bank. This allows you to set up a card billing address, which is information Amazon requests.
- You can either call the number printed on the back of the card to register over the phone, or visit the issuing bank's webstie and online registration. You must enter a valid address when applying for the card.
Sign in to Amazon. Once the card is registered, you will be able to use it to shop online. Sign in to Amazon to add your card to your account as a payment method.
Hover your mouse pointer over your name on the Amazon homepage and select "Your Account.’ Your Amazon account page will open.
Choose "Add a Credit or Debit Card". This option is in the "Payment Methods" column of the "Amazon Wallet" section.
Enter your name and prepaid card number. You must enter the correct name previously registered with the prepaid card or the name printed on the card itself. The name of the subscriber is printed on not all prepaid cards.
Enter the exact billing address you signed up for. Enter the billing address you used when you applied for your card. This address needs to be identical, otherwise the tag will be rejected.
Create an order with the prepaid card just added. Now you can complete your purchase and select the prepaid card as your payment method. You need to ensure that your card balance is sufficient to cover the shipping and shipping charges.
Check your billing address if the card is rejected. If the prepaid card was rejected at the completion of the transaction, it is likely that your billing information did not match the registered address. Check the billing address you entered on Amazon with your prepaid card registration information to see if there's something wrong. advertisement
