There are many different ways you can eat pop tart. Some people like to eat them straight out of the bag, while others prefer to roast them first. However, there are other ways to eat a pop tart. They make a great garnish for ice cream and you can even use them for smores, ice cream waffles and milkshakes!

Ingredients

Pop-tart ice cream waffle

  • 4 pop tarts
  • 144 grams of ice cream, soft
  • Mini chocolate chips or sprinkles (optional, as a garnish)

For 4 ice cream waffles

Cookie-and-cream milkshake

  • 2 Frosted Cookies & Creme pop tarts
  • 288 grams of vanilla ice cream, soft
  • 120 milliliters of milk
  • ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract

For 2 servings

To step

Method 1 of 4: Heat up a pop tart and eat it

  1. Warm up a pop tart in the toaster if you want to keep it traditional. Remove the pop-tart from the pouch and place it vertically in the toaster. Heat it briefly on low heat. Let the pop-tart cool for a few seconds before eating it.
    • This method also works with grill ovens.
  2. Eat the pop tarts straight from the bag if you don't have much time. Many people like to eat their pop-tart at room temperature, and that's fine. They are already baked, so they can be eaten without being reheated.
  3. Try it frozen if you want a nice, cold snack. Many of the dessert flavors, such as Cookies & Creme, Hot Fudge Sundae, and Frosted Chocolate Chip, taste great this way. Just put the whole bag in the freezer overnight and enjoy it the next morning.

Method 2 of 4: Get creative

  1. Use pop-tart as a topping for ice cream. Cut or crumble your favorite pop-tart flavor into small pieces and use the result as a topping for ice cream. The pieces should be slightly smaller than ready to use. You don't have to heat up the pop tarts for this.
  2. Make a pop-tart parfait. Crumble a few strawberries pop-tart and take a parfait bowl. Then alternate layers of crumbled pop tarts, strawberries, and whipped cream. Garnish your parfait with some more whipped cream and sprinkle some finely crumbled pop tarts on top.
  3. Place two pop tarts on a cutting board, glazed side down. Save the other two pop tarts for later. You can use any kind of pop-tart for this, but flavors that are very suitable for this are: Cookies & Creme, Frosted Chocolate Chip and Hot Fudge Sundae.
  4. Dip the sides of your waffles in chocolate chips or sprinkles, if you like. Fill a bowl with mini chocolate chips or sprinkles. Take an ice cream wafer and dip each of the four sides in the bowl. The pieces of chocolate will stick to the ice cream, making your ice cream wafer extra crunchy.
  5. Wrap the waffles in foil and put them in the freezer for at least two hours. Carefully wrap each ice cream wafer in cling film and place in the freezer. This will make the ice harden again, holding the wafer together.

Method 4 of 4: Make a Cookies-n-Cream milkshake

  1. Pour the milkshake into two long glasses and garnish with a pop-tart triangle. Use a spatula to guide the mixture into the two long glasses. Serve the milkshakes immediately.

Tips

  • Heating a pop-tart in a toaster or microwave will not melt the icing.
  • You usually eat pop tarts with your fingers, like a sandwich. However, you can use a knife and fork if you want to do it fancy.
  • There are a lot of different flavors of pop tarts. Some of these are seasonal, while others are special editions.

Warnings

  • Let your pop tart cool for a few seconds after you heat it up. The filling will very be hot.
