Summer is one of the few seasons when you can really enjoy delicious, fresh mango juice. Usually purchased mango juice and soda has a rather uniform taste and texture. But you can make your own fresh mango juice at home with different types of mangoes and enjoy different flavors of mango juice.

Ingredients

Mango juice from the blender:
For 4 persons

  • 2 ripe mangoes
  • 1 cup of water
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar
  • A few ice cubes

Pressed mango juice:

  • At least 2 mangoes
  • 1/2 liter of water
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar

To step

Method 1 of 2: Mango juice from the blender

  1. Wash the mangoes to remove dirt. Peel the ripe mangoes.
  2. Cut the peeled mangoes into small pieces.
  3. Put them in a blender along with crushed ice, water and sugar.
  4. Blend until smooth.
  5. Pass the mixed mixture through a sieve.
  6. Discard the leftover pulp and mango fibers or try using them for a different recipe.
  7. Serve the drink in a glass with a piece of mango attached to the side for garnish.

Method 2 of 2: Squeezed mango juice

  1. Collect some ripe, undamaged mangoes from your own mango garden or buy some from the store or market. Look for mangoes of the same kind.
  2. Use at least two mangoes to make juice for the whole family. Wash the outside of the selected mangoes.
  3. Prepare two medium-sized bowls. Use one to put in the mango pulp and the other for the peeled mangoes.
  4. Peel the rind from the mangoes and put them in the appropriate bowl. Place the mangoes in the other bowl. Then squeeze the mango pulp with a clean hand to squeeze the juice from the flesh.
  5. Soften the pulp with your hands or with a spoon. Add 1/2 liter of water to liquefy the pulp. If necessary, add 2 tablespoons of sugar to sweeten it. Stir the mango juice until it is sweet enough (check that all the sugar has dissolved).
  6. Pour the juice into glasses, without the pulp. Serve the juice cool. You can also keep it in a jug in the fridge.

Tips

  • Mangoes with a wonderful aroma and strong flavor are best for blending.
  • Don't be too frugal with the mangoes, but remember: the more mangoes, the more moisture.
  • There are many different types of mangoes. Blend mangoes with thinner, shorter fibers to make the drink more drinkable.
  • Add as much water as necessary, but not too much, as the juice will be diluted too much and it will lose its characteristic aroma and flavor.
