Keep your leather shoes clean by regularly removing dirt and dust with the right tools. You can clean normal leather with a soft brush, and for suede you need a special brush to maintain the texture of the leather. In addition to special leather cleaners, you can use common products such as baby wipes, a pencil eraser and cornstarch to clean your shoes.
To step
Method 1 of 3: Cleaning leather shoes
Polish your shoes with mineral oil. Most store-bought leather cleaners for patent leather shoes contain mineral oil as the main ingredient. You can only use mineral oil to get the same effect as with such a cleaner. Pour 4-5 drops onto a clean cloth and rub the oil over the surface of the shoes. Use a second clean cloth to polish your shoes to make them shine.
Tips
- Freshen up your shoes by sprinkling baking soda into them so that the salt can absorb all the oil, sweat and other moisture overnight.
- Do not wet suede or apply soap to it, as this will damage the leather.
