• Method 1 of 7: Using the Ad Blocker menu

Ad blockers are useful for stopping annoying ads and pop-ups, but they can also prevent you from accessing certain websites or parts of a site. You can turn off extensions in the extensions menu or turn off your ad blocker for certain sites. This article will teach you how to disable your ad blocker on mobile and desktop browsers.

Method 1 of 7: Using the Ad Blocker menu

1. Go to a website that is blocking your ad blocker. This can be a website with advertisements that you want to view or a website where the ad blocker hinders functionality.
2. Click on the ad blocker extension icon. This is in the top right corner of your internet browser, next to the address bar. It usually has a red icon with the initials of the ad blocker inside. This will display a drop-down menu for the ad blocker extension.
3. Click on the option to disable the ad blocker. This differs depending on the extension. It could be an icon that resembles a circle with a line across the top, a check box icon next to "Enabled", an Enable / Disable button, or something similar. The extension will remember your preferences for the website.
4. click on Open Google Chrome. The Google Chrome icon resembles a red, green and yellow wheel with a blue dot in the center. Click on this icon to open Google Chrome. In Google Chrome, ad blockers function as browser extensions.
5. click on ⋮. This is the icon with three vertical dots in the top right corner of the browser. This will open the menu.
   • This button may look like three horizontal lines if you are using an older version of Chrome.
6. click on More Tools. This is near the bottom of the menu that appears when you click on the three-dot menu. This will display a submenu next to the menu.
7. click on Extensions. This is in the sidebar on the left side of the window. This will display a list of Google Chrome plugins and extensions.
8. Find your ad blocker in the list of extensions. Each extension has its own box of options on the Extensions page. All extensions are listed alphabetically.
   • If you know its name, you can search specifically by pressing "Command" + "F" (Mac) or "Ctrl" + "F" (Windows) and then typing the name in the search bar in the top right corner.
9. Press the switch Open Google Chrome. The Google Chrome icon resembles a red, green and yellow wheel with a blue dot in the center. Press the Google Chrome icon on your home screen to open Google Chrome on your Android.
   • In Google Chrome, the ad blocker is not implemented on iPhone and iPad. However, you can disable the ad blocker.
10. Press ⋮. This is the three vertical dots icon in the top right corner of Google Chrome. This will display the menu.
11. Press Settings. This is near the bottom of the Google Chrome menu that appears when you press the three vertical dots icon.
12. Press Website settings. This is at the bottom of the Settings menu.
13. Press Pop-ups and forwarding. This is near the bottom of the Website Settings menu, next to an icon that resembles an arrow pointing to the top right corner of the box.
14. Press the switch Press Press Ads. This is the option just below "Pop-ups and Forwarding". This is next to an icon that resembles an Internet browser window.
15. Press the switch Open the Settings menu Press Safari. This is next to an icon that resembles a blue compass in the Settings menu. Content blockers are managed through the Safari app and this is also where you can change the current settings of your ad blocker.
16. Press the switch Press Content blockers. This will display a list of all content blockers installed on your iPhone or iPad.
17. Press the switch Open Safari. Safari's icon resembles a blue compass. Click the Safari icon in the Dock at the bottom of the screen to open Safari.
18. click on Safari. This is in the menu bar at the top of the screen in the top left corner. This will bring up the Safari menu.
19. click on Preferences .... This is the third option in the Safari menu. This will open the Preferences menu.
20. Click on the tab Extensions. This is below the icon that resembles a blue puzzle piece at the top of the Preferences window.
21. Click the check box Open Microsoft Edge. Its icon resembles a dark blue "e". In Microsoft Edge, ad blockers come in the form of plug-ins that are manually added to your browser. You can disable your ad blocker by opening your extension.
22. click on …. This is the three horizontal dots icon in the top right corner. This will display the menu.
23. click on Extensions. This is about halfway through the menu next to an icon that resembles a puzzle piece. This will display a list of all extensions installed on Edge.
24. Find your ad blocker in the list. All extensions are listed alphabetically in the menu on the right.
25. Right click on the ad blocker. You will be presented with options to customize the extension.
    • If you have many extensions and know the name of your ad blocker, you can find it by pressing "Ctrl" + "F" and typing the name of the extension in the search bar that appears.
26. Click on the switch Open Mozilla Firefox. To disable your ad blocker, you just need to manage your Add-ons.
27. click on ☰. This is the icon with three horizontal lines in the top right corner of the window. This will display the menu.
28. click on Add-ons. This is about halfway through the menu, next to an icon that resembles a puzzle piece.
29. click on Extensions. This button is located in the left sidebar of the Add-ons page and will list all installed applications used in Firefox.
30. Find your ad blocker in the list of extensions. All enabled extensions are listed under "Enabled" on the Extensions page.
31. click on … to the right of an enabled ad blocker. This is the three horizontal dots icon in the top right corner of each extension bar in the extensions list. This will display a menu for that extension.
    • If you know the name, you can type it in the search bar in the top right corner of the Add-on Manager window.
32. click on Switch off. This is at the top of the menu that appears when you click the three-dot icon. Your ad blocker will no longer work while browsing.
    • Return to this menu to enable the ad blocker. Find the ad blocker under "Disabled" and click the three-dot icon. Click "Enable" to enable the extension.
