Installing a custom ROM on your Android device is the best way to customize the look and performance of your device's software. It will allow you to open up new possibilities and explore new horizons for enhancing your experience with Android. Installing a custom ROM is not without risk. It is recommended that you read more about custom ROMs and proceed only if you are confident. We are not responsible for any damage to your device.

Part 1 of 4: Rooting your device

1. Download a rooting package. Search the internet for a rooting package for your specific device and download it.
2. Download the USB drivers from your device. Search the internet as many manufacturers always supply USB drivers.
3. Download Odin. Search online again and download it. Extract the rooting package and Odin together in the same folder.
4. Put your device in "Download" mode. You can do this by shutting it down and simultaneously pressing and holding the "Power" button and the "Volume Down" button.
   • The order of the buttons may vary by device, so if this doesn't work, search the internet for instructions for your specific model.
5. Connect your device to your PC. If your device is in Download mode, connect it to your PC with the USB cable that is usually included with the purchase of your Android.
6. Turn Odin. There should be an “Added!” Message in Odin's message log, if you ran it.
7. Click on "PDA.Choose the root file (usually a.tar.md5 file).
8. Click on "Run.’ This will start the rooting procedure. Wait for the procedure to complete to avoid errors. The device should reboot itself after finishing.

Part 2 of 4: Installing a custom recovery

1. Download GooManager. Go to the Play store, search for GooManager, and download it to your device.
2. Start GooManager. Find the application on your device and tap it to open it.
3. Press Menu and tap “Install OpenRecoveryScript.” Confirm the notifications that appear and also give the app root access. Wait for the download and installation to complete.
4. Confirm the installation. Tap the menu in GooManager and then "Reboot Recovery." If the installation was successful, you will be taken to the TWRP Custom Recovery menu.

Part 3 of 4: Download a ROM for your device

1. Visit the XDA forums: . This is where much of the Android Developer Community posts their work and hosts their files.
2. Find the forum for your device. Type in the name of your device and model in the search bar “Find your device”.
3. Go to the Android Development section. When you arrive at the forum menu of your device, find a ROM with the features you want. Read the information and download the ROM .zip package from the forum post.
4. Place the ROM package in a directory in your internal memory. Make sure you don't forget where you placed the ROM package.

Part 4 of 4: Installing your custom ROM

1. Boot into recovery mode using GooManager. This is the easiest way to get into recovery mode.
2. Create a Nandroid Backup in TWRP. Do this by tapping “Backup” in the recovery menu. This will make an extensive backup of your Android system so you can restore it should something go wrong.
   • Naming the backup is optional, but a good idea.
3. Go back to the main menu and tap "Install.’ Do this when you are done backing up your system.
4. Search for the ROM.zip file you downloaded. You can do this using the search box in the explorer. Tap the file and swipe the slider to start the installation.
   • If your ROM package has one, follow the on-screen instructions.
5. Wait for the installation to complete. Clear the cache and reboot your system.
