Bottles and other oblong objects are very difficult to pack. If you're in a hurry, there are a few easy and quick solutions for festive packaging. Think of a gift bag, a box or a nice cellophane. If you have a little more time, you can still wrap your bottle in gift wrap with a decorative bow in less than 15 minutes. When you travel with your bottle, pack it in a cardboard tube that you then pack.

To step

Method 1 of 3: Apply quick and easy solutions

  1. Put the bottle in a gift bag. Fill up your bag with tissue paper or with an old newspaper. A bottle is not really sturdy in a bag, so a little filling ensures that your bottle stays upright.
    • Many gift and beverage stores sell special bottle carrier bags, so they are well protected and festively packaged.
  2. Pack the bottle like a sachet. Cut a piece of wrapping paper for the bottle and make sure you have more than four inches of extra paper at the top and bottom. Place the bottle in the center of the paper and roll the paper tightly around the bottle. Tighten the ends tightly and secure with ribbons that you can tie into a knot.
    • Fan both ends of the wrapping paper to make the gift look even more like a candy.
    • When you pack the bottle like this, you can no longer put it upright. Pay attention to this when you put the bottle down.
  3. Place the bottle in a wrapped box. A narrow (shoe) box is perfect for this. If your box is a bit too big, you can fill it with waste paper. Once your bottle is in the box, you can wrap it as a gift.
    • A simple bow made of colored ribbons makes it a personal and festive gift.
  4. Wrap several layers of tissue paper around the bottle. Place a few sheets of tissue paper on top of each other. Place the bottle in the center of the paper and grasp all the layers of tissue paper at the opposite corners. Then secure the corners to the neck of the bottle.
    • Tie a ribbon around the neck of the bottle to keep the tissue paper together and give your gift a festive finish at the same time.
  5. Wrap bottles in cellophane. Cut a piece of cellophane. It should be big enough to pack the entire bottle. Place the bottle in the middle and pull the ends up high over the bottle. Secure the ends of the cellophane with a ribbon or a few pieces of tape.
    • There are many different colors of cellophane that you can also combine very well in one package.
    • Create a stylish effect by combining tissue paper and cellophane and letting the paper shine through under the cellophane.

Method 2 of 3: Wrap with gift wrap

  1. Cut a generous piece of wrapping paper. It should be big enough to hold the whole bottle, so cut an extra large piece. It is easier to cut off a piece of paper than to glue a piece of wrapping paper to it.
  2. Stick the wrapping paper to the bottle with double-sided tape. Lay the bottle flat, parallel to one of the long ends of the paper. Stick the paper on this side to the bottle with double-sided tape.
  3. Trim away any excess paper. Roll the bottle loosely in the wrapping paper to see how much you have left. You should have enough paper to wrap the entire bottle, but you also don't want too much left over.
    • The bottom and top of the paper should be short enough to fold flat without leaving any paper.
  4. Roll the bottle again in the trimmed wrapping paper and make a few notches on the short sides. After cutting away the excess paper, roll the bottle back into the wrapping paper. Secure one of the long sides over the other long side with double-sided tape. Then make three even notches on the top and bottom of the paper with the scissors.
    • The notches should go all the way to the bottom of the bottle and the other end to the cap or cork.
  5. Fasten the wrapping paper at the top and bottom. Fold the cutouts of the paper over each other. Attach the last piece with a piece of double-sided tape to the piece that is already folded. Press the last piece firmly onto the adhesive tape.
    • Attach the wrapping paper to the top of the bottle in the same way, by folding the cutouts over each other and sticking it with double-sided tape.
  6. Stick a ribbon or garland at the top with double-sided tape. Tie a ribbon vertically around the bottle and tie the ends together above the bottle. Secure it with a piece of double-sided tape and tie it into a pretty bow to complement your gift wrapping.

Method 3 of 3: Make a wrapped tube

  1. Buy a cardboard tube with sealing caps. These are available at most post offices and office and art supply stores. Most bottles fit in tubes between 10 and 15 centimeters in diameter.
  2. Measure the tube and cut it to size. Put your bottle in the tube and draw a pencil about three centimeters above the bottle. Take the bottle out again and cut the tube, along this mark, to size with a utility knife or sharp scissors.
    • A jigsaw is useful with very thick cardboard. Make sure your saw does not slip during this job.
  3. Place the sealing cap on the tube. Secure the sealing cap to the bottom of the cartridge and use masking tape to secure it. You now have a solid bottom, so that the bottle cannot fall out.
    • If the cap is difficult to put on, hit the tube with the cap against a wall or a table to secure everything properly.
  4. Wrap the tube in wrapping paper. Secure the long end of your wrapping paper to the tube with double-sided tape. Roll the tube in the wrapping paper until it is completely covered and secure it with one long side over the other. Make sure you don't have too much transhipment.
  5. Cut away any excess wrapping paper and put the bottle in the tube. Cut away any wrapping paper that sticks out at the top or bottom and put the bottle in the tube. Then you put the second cap on the top of the tube. Your gift is now almost ready.
  6. Decorate with a bow or something else. You can make your gift extra festive with a bow or garlands. You can also easily and quickly stick a ready-made bow on the top cap for a stylish accent.
    • Stick glitter and sequins on your gift for a lot of glamor and shine.
