This wikiHow teaches you how to add an attachment to a PDF document on Windows, Mac, or Android using Adobe Reader DC.

To step

  1. Open a PDF document in Adobe Reader. You do this through the red Adobe Reader app with the stylized, white aicon. Then click on File in the menu bar at the top of the screen, click To open..., select the PDF document to which you want to add an attachment and click To open.
    • If you don't already have Adobe Reader, you can download it for free from https://get.adobe.com/reader, and it is made for Windows, Mac and Android operating systems.
  2. click on Tools. It's in the top left corner of the screen.
  3. click on Note. It is a speech bubble icon at the top left of the screen.
  4. Click on the paperclip icon next to a "+" in the toolbar at the top of the screen.
  5. click on Attach file. The cursor will turn into a paper clip icon.
  6. Click where you want to add the attachment in the PDF.
  7. Choose the file you want to attach and click To open.
  8. Change the appearance of the attachment. Use the dialog to change the icon (which will represent the PDF attachment), change its color and transparency.
  9. click on OK.
  10. click on File in the menu bar and on Save in the drop-down menu. The attachment is now saved in the PDF document.
