If you want to experiment with the flavor, try replacing the traditional ingredients with different drinks, sweeteners and garnishes. Your own twist on this classic recipe just might become your drink of choice!

Method 1 of 2: Making a classic Old Fashioned cocktail

  1. Try a variety of citrus garnishes or add cherries to your cocktail. Orange is the traditional garnish, but maraschino cherries are a popular and tasty alternative! Put one or more cherries in the whiskey glass before serving the drink.
    • For a fruity variation, put an orange slice or wedge in the glass with the cherries.
    • For a slightly different flavor, try lemon or lime zest instead of the traditional orange zest.

Necessities
