A stroke can turn the world of any person. He can ruin your life, but you don't want that to happen to you. Want to know the symptoms of a stroke?
Steps
1 Learn the signs and symptoms of a stroke. If the victim takes them into account early, she has a better chance of maximum recovery. The symptoms of a stroke are very easy to recognize. They include:
- Numbness or tingling in the face or limbs, especially on one side of the body.
- Sudden confusion, difficulty speaking, or not understanding words and phrases.
- Vision problems in one or both eyes.
- Difficulty walking, imbalance and coordination of movements.
- Dizziness.
- Sudden severe migraine on one or both sides of the head.
- Confusion of speech.
- Facial asymmetry or weakness.
- 2 To recognize a stroke in a stranger, you can:
- Ask him to smile / show his teeth. With a stroke, the face will be distorted; when you try to smile, the corner of the lips on one side will go down.
- Ask him to close his eyes and stretch his arms out in front of him, palms down. If your hands fall down, it is a sign of a stroke.
- Ask him to smile / show his teeth. With a stroke, the face will be distorted; when you try to smile, the corner of the lips on one side will go down.
3 Ask him to repeat a simple phrase after you, for example: "teach your grandmother to suck eggs." If he says the words inarticulate, confuses the words, or does not understand you, this indicates a stroke.
4 Remember, these symptoms usually go away over time. Don't ignore them, even if they've passed; they will definitely return unless they seek medical attention. Call an ambulance immediately.
5 Try to calm the victim down, although this will not be easy.
Tips
- Note the time when the victim first had symptoms, as you will be asked about this later.
- If you have information about which hospital has the necessary equipment and where you can find a neurologist on call, and if you think it will take longer for an ambulance to wait, you can take the victim to the hospital yourself.
- Keep your mobile phone close at hand. If you have symptoms of a stroke, call an ambulance immediately.
Warnings
- Not all symptoms may occur, but if at least one or more of them are observed, seek medical attention as soon as possible.
