Installing the official Android File Transfer application on your Mac gives you the option to connect to your Android device and transfer files. Once a link is made, you will be able to browse the files on your Android just like any other folder on your Mac. You can also transfer the music files from your iTunes library to your Android that way.

Part 1 of 3: Install Android File Transfer

1. Click the Safari button on your Mac.
2. Go to https://www.android.com/filetransfer/ in Safari. Type https://www.android.com/filetransfer/ in the address bar of your web browser and press ⏎ Return.
3. Click the "Download Now" button.
4. Click the androidfiletransfer.dmg file in Downloads.
5. Drag Android File Transfer to the Applications folder.

Part 2 of 3: Transferring files

1. Connect your Android to your Mac via USB.
2. Unlock your Android screen. You must keep the screen unlocked to access the files.
3. Swipe down to open the Android notification panel.
4. Tap the USB option in the notification panel.
5. Tap "File Transfer" or "MTP.’
6. Click Go and select "Programs".
7. Double-click on "Android File Transfer.’ Android File Transfer may start automatically when you connect to your Android.
8. Click and drag the files to move them. When the Android's storage space is shown, you can browse and move files the same way you would any other folder on your computer. The file size is limited to 4 GB when moving to and from your Android device.

Part 3 of 3: Add iTunes music to your Android

1. Click the iTunes button on your Mac. You can find these in your Dock.
2. Right-click on one of the numbers you want to move. If you don't have a right mouse button, hold Ctrl and click.
3. Select "Show in Finder.’
4. Select all the music you want to transfer. You can select individual files or entire folders.
5. Drag the selected files to the Android File Transfer window.
6. Release the files in the "Music" folder.
7. Wait for the files to transfer.
8. Disconnect your Android device.
9. Tap the Music app on the Android. The appearance of the app will differ depending on your Android device.
10. Tap the music to play it.
