Giving a bunch of flowers is a good way to cheer someone up. If you want to make your bouquet look neater, wrap it up before giving it to anyone. Leave the stems sticking out of the paper to make the bouquet stand out, or wrap the stems in the paper so you can only see the flowers if you want a country look. You can also give a single wrapped flower as a simple gift. By using a ribbon or string you can really make your bouquet stand out.

To step

Part 1 of 3: Wrapping flowers in paper with the stems out

  1. Choose paper. You can use almost any type of paper to wrap flowers. If you want a simple classic look, go for plain brown craft paper. To make the bouquet look more chic, choose wrapping paper or floral paper with a pattern. If you want a unique look, choose one of the following paper types:
    • Newsprint
    • Pages from old books (if you're wrapping small flowers)
    • Sheet music
    • Colored tissue paper
  2. Choose paper. To wrap a delicate bouquet, you can use brown craft paper or thick gift paper. If the flowers have strong stems and buds, you can use a more delicate paper such as blotting paper or newspaper.
    • Choose a color that goes well with the flowers and does not contrast with them. For example, if you have orange flowers, consider using red and yellow tissue paper to bring out the orange color.
  3. Pack a single flower. If you want to give someone a single flower, you can make it stand out by wrapping it. Roll a small piece of brown wrapping paper around the stem and tie a string around it to hold the paper in place. You can also wrap a small piece of cloth around the stem. Tie a ribbon around it to hold the fabric in place.
    • If the flower is very small, you can roll up one end of the paper into a cone. Tuck the small flower into the cone so that it is in the narrow end of the cone.
