Have you ever wondered what people say when you watch Roland Garros? Or maybe you just want to learn some French tennis terms?

To step

1. Scoring in French is essentially the same as in English, but with French words!
   • Love = zero = 0 points
   • 15 = quinze = 1 point
   • 30 = Trent = 2 points
   • 40 = quarante = 3 points
2. If both players have the same score, say the following
   • 15 all = quinze-à (pronounced canz'uh)
   • 30 all = trente-à
   • Deuce (40 all) = égalité, but only after the first quarante-à
3. To say the scores after deuce
   • Advantage server
   • Advantage receiver
4. Some other words you will need when scoring are:
   • Game = jeux
   • Set = game
   • Match = match

Tips

• To say "Good ball!" You say "Bon Coup!"

Warnings

• If people don't understand you, you may have the wrong accent!
