iTunes conveniently updates automatically when new software versions are released. As the saying goes, some users may want to manually update for one reason or another. Skip to Step 1 to learn how to manually update the software through iTunes.

Steps

1. 1 Open iTunes. Double click on the iTunes icon on your desktop.
2. 2 Open Help. On the menu bar, at the top of the iTunes window, click on “Help.”
3. 3 Click on Check for Updates. In the Help menu, scroll down and click on “Check for Updates.” iTunes should determine if your version of iTunes is the latest or not.
   • If not, an update window should appear asking permission to download and install the latest version.
