Finding out who removed you from your friends list is quite difficult because there is no official feature on Facebook yet that provides such information. If you know how to use Excel, you can compare the old and new friend lists and find out who is missing.

Steps

Part 1 of 3: How to Download Facebook Data

  1. 1 Go to the page facebook.com. Log in to your account if you are not automatically logged in.
  2. 2 Click the arrow icon. This downward-facing triangle is located in the upper right corner of the Quick Help icon.
  3. 3 Click on "Settings".
  4. 4 Click "Download a copy of your data to Facebook". It's at the bottom of the main settings page.
  5. 5 Click Create File.
  6. 6 Enter your password.
  7. 7 Wait for the email. You will soon receive an email from Facebook at the corresponding email address.
  8. 8 Open the letter.
  9. 9 Click the link. It is at the bottom of the letter.
  10. 10 Click on "Download archive". The archive "Facebook your name>" will be downloaded.

Part 2 of 3: How to Create Friends List in Excel / Google Sheets

  1. 1 Open the downloaded archive.
  2. 2 Open the "html" folder.
  3. 3 Open the file "friends".
  4. 4 Highlight your friends. Hold down the left mouse button and drag the pointer from the top of the friends list to the bottom.
  5. 5 Copy the list. Click on Ctrl+C (Windows) or ⌘ Cmd+C (Mac).
  6. 6 Open Excel or Google Sheets.
  7. 7 Click cell A1.
  8. 8 Insert the list. Click on Ctrl+V (Windows) or ⌘ Cmd+V (Mac).
    • If you are using Excel, save the file.

Part 3 of 3: How to Compare Friends Lists

  1. 1 Download the new friends list (go back to the first section).
  2. 2 Copy the new friends list (return to the second section for steps 1-5).
  3. 3 Open Excel / Google Sheets.
  4. 4 Click on the file with the list of friends.
  5. 5 Click in cell B1.
  6. 6 Insert a new list. Click on Ctrl+V (Windows) or ⌘ Cmd+V (Mac).
  7. 7 Click cell C1.
  8. 8 Enter = VLOOKUP (A1; B: B; 1; FALSE). VLOOKUP searches the entire column B for the name specified in cell A1, and only exact matches are considered.
  9. 9 Click cell C1.
  10. 10 Press and hold the square icon. It is located in the lower right corner of the selected cell.
  11. 11 Drag the icon down the column. Drag the square down column C to the last name in column A.
  12. 12 Find the "Not Found" values. If the cell displays this value, the corresponding name is not in the new friends list.

Tips

  • There are websites / extensions that can determine who removed you from the friends list (for example, who.deleted.me), but it is not a fact that such sites are completely legal and safe.
