In this article, we'll show you how to use the Samsung Remote to adjust the volume on your Samsung Smart TV. There are different models of Samsung remotes with different button layouts. If you are unable to change the volume using the corresponding buttons on the remote control or on the TV, turn off the auto volume function in the TV settings.If the TV is set to play sound through the receiver and / or external speakers, you can adjust the sound using another remote control or manually on the speakers.

Steps

Method 1 of 2: Using the Samsung Remote

1. 1 Turn on your TV. Press the power button, which is marked with a red circle with a line at the top. This button is in the upper right corner of the remote. You can also press the power button on the TV.
   • If the volume cannot be adjusted with the remote control or the level changes while watching TV, turn off auto volume in the TV settings.
   • If sound is coming from external speakers, adjust the volume on the speakers as well.
2. 2 Find the buttons for adjusting the volume. There are different models of remote controls for Samsung smart TVs with different button layouts.
   • In most cases, the volume up button is marked with a symbol. +, and to decrease - by the symbol -.
   • Sometimes the buttons for changing the volume are one long rectangular button with the words "VOL" written on it. Such a button, as a rule, is located at the bottom of the remote control - with its help you can increase and decrease the volume.
3. 3 Click the button +to increase the volume. If there is only one “VOL” button on the remote, press its top to increase the volume.
   • A bar will appear on the screen showing the change in volume in real time. If the bar moves to the right, the volume increases, and if the bar moves to the left, it decreases.
4. 4 Click the button -to decrease the volume. If there is only one "VOL" button on the remote, press its lower part to decrease the volume.
5. 5 Click on MUTE (Mute) to mute the sound. This button may be marked with a speaker with a cross icon.
   • Press MUTE again to unmute the sound.

Method 2 of 2: How to turn off auto volume

1. 1 Turn on your TV. Click on the power button in the upper left corner of the remote. You can also press the power button on the TV.
   • Use this method if the volume changes automatically while watching TV, or if you are unable to adjust the volume with the Samsung Remote.
   • There are different models of Samsung remotes, but this method can be applied to almost any of them.
2. 2 Click the button Home (Home) on the remote. This button is marked with a house icon. You will be taken to the TV home page.
   • If there is no such button, press the button ≣ Menu (Menu).
3. 3 Please select Settings. To do this, use the arrow buttons on the remote. Now click on the right arrow button to open the submenu.
   • If you pressed the button in the previous step ≣ Menu, you can skip this step.
4. 4 Please select Sound. Sound settings will open.
5. 5 Please select Expert settings or Additional settings. The option name depends on the TV model.
   • If these options are not available, find the Speaker Settings option.
6. 6 Please select Auto volume. It's at the bottom of the menu. Three options will be displayed:
   • Normal - This option adjusts the volume so that it does not change when you switch to another channel or input source.
   • Night - This option adjusts the volume so that it stays low while watching TV at night. This option also disables the auto volume function during daytime.
   • Disable - this option disables the auto volume function.
7. 7 Please select Disable. If the "Normal" or "Night" option is currently selected, most likely, when watching TV, the volume changes automatically (that is, without your participation). By selecting "Disable", only you can adjust the volume.
